Ever since I started raising chickens for meat, I have never looked back. I honestly never thought I could do it as I am a huge animal lover (but also love meat) but I have surprised myself. I guess once you try home grown…you never want to go back to supermarket bought. So much better! (Note: these chickens are specifically bred for meat)

A little update from the farm....Tilly the duck and Mavis the hen are sharing the incubation duties 💕 🦆 🐓 whilst most of my young hens that are for sale have just started laying eggs....soooo many eggs!!! 🥚 I think my family are all egged out 😬

Our Story

All our ducks and chickens free range on our 76-acre property in Gunalda, QLD. The chickens are in a large secure area free from predators, some sleep on their perches in the house, others sleep in the trees. The ducks have full access to our lake, which is as close to their natural habitat as we can give them. We have had a halt in our duck egg availability due to the crows beating us to the eggs every time – we are working on a solution. Our chickens however are laying the yummiest eggs; they are fed the best of grains from Cooloola Custom Stockfeed and quality healthy scraps. Enjoy!
