Long time, no post.
While we had retired from breeding due to the flooded market, we decided to have just one more litter before we desexed all our girls.

From this litter, we have one stunning male 👀🏡
Meet Wally (affectionately known as Silly Wally)
Black & Tan long hair
Penny X Dudley (full sibling to our last LH litter early 2022)
Both parents are fully tested & clear of all genetic diseases.

If you would like to hear more about Wally, please send us a message 🥰

As most of you would know, we took a step back when the market started to flood and we are no longer breeding.
And while we are no longer breeding, we have still retained all our dogs - they are family after all and we love them like our children.
Today after reading some posts, I decided to have a look on gumtree. I had to stop scrolling. The flooded market is absolutely heartbreaking! Not only are there countless advertisements for poorly bred puppies (yes there are still some good quality ones on there too) but for numerous adult dogs that people can no longer have due to the current housing crisis or purely because dachshunds are no longer “on trend”

This being said, I wanted to put it out there, that if ANY of our dogs we have bred are ever in need of rehoming for ANY reason, please reach out and we will do our best to help you out/find a new home for them. I couldn’t bare the thought of one of our babies ending up in a shelter or with a rescue 🛟

Copied from Endachs
IVDD is something a dog either has or they don't. It isn't being active that causes it rather the degeneration gets to the point that the disk bulges or blows.

We stand behind letting dogs be dogs and, most importantly, keeping the muscles that support the spine strong. We DO advocate age-appropriate activity but you won't us telling our puppy owners to never let their dog jump on or off the couch or to always carry them on stairs, and so on. You WILL find us advocating on keeping the dog active and not letting them get overweight and things such as that.

It doesn't take a jump or twist to cause a dog's IVDD disc problem. IVDD is a genetic disease which causes the discs to age too early which makes the outer edges weaken and tear which allows the inner cushy disc material to bulge and then rupture out causing spinal cord compression and sometimes pinched nerves. The disc bulge or rupture/herniation is a consequence of the disease process. https://www.k9backpack.com/resources/all-about-ivdd
