Our Story

NMTS offers breaking and training of horses, specialising in creating a relaxed, balanced, supple horse who is happy to do his job.

How long is the breaking period? Well, how long is a piece of string? Horses, like humans are individuals, they all learn differently and each horse is treated as an individual. During the breaking in process horses are started from the ground up and exposed to life outside the arena. I am a firm believer in putting “correct” miles on young horses, riding them out whilst still building body control, moving hips, shoulders and ribs, creating shape whilst out on the trail. This creates a horse who happy in his mind and body.

NMTS offers lessons with a focus on rider position and form to function. Even the slightest bit of tension in a riders jaw, will affect how their horse is travelling. I aim to enable the rider to understand why they're using their own bodies in such a way and I want them to develop "Feel, which is the ultimate goal when working with horses.
