There are a lot of misinformation surrounding working breed dogs like Border Collies, Kelpies, and Australian Shepherds. It’s often said these breeds need endless hours of exercise and stimulation. While they do require mental and physical activity, sometimes the advice can be inflated. For instance, excessive ball throwing can lead to an unhealthy obsession with the ball, making your dog more reactive to everyday stimuli like buses or skateboards. Absolute pleasure training these two future Premier League Football players and all round Gentleman and their German Shepard Ace. Ace is a fantastic Dog, really intelligent and confident but was strutting around Essendon like he owned it 😂. Issues we addressed were pulling on the lead, constant territory marking and zig zagging, behaviour around other dogs, stay training at family bbqs etc and jumping at the back doors. Ace picked up on everything almost immediately and safe to say his family will be enjoying his company even more so now 🐶🙂

Such a pleasure training Neville (Mini Schnauzer) and Rose (Golden retriever x Lab). Before and after with Casper and Jesse. Unfortunately Casper had been pulling so hard on the walks that his owners were unable to walk him anymore which they felt terrible about. Was my pleasure helping them with this issue and he has been walking beautifully ever since their lesson. Any dog is capable of walking calmly and attentively by their owners side, they just need the proper training and guidance 🐶🙂 #3121

Loz and his American Bulldog Wilbert. Was a pleasure working with these two. Things we went over were loose lead walking, stay training and general obedience. This is how delightful Daisy now greets anyone coming through the front door. Issues we addressed were barking at people coming into the house and jumping on them, barking at the doorbell, pulling on the leash and lunging towards other dogs on the walk and other general obedience. How to achieve perfect recall without using treats or bribery methods in three steps—1. Make sure your dog responds to your commands and focuses on you on the lead. You can not achieve off lead control if you don’t have good on lead control. If they are pulling out in front, sniffing the ground and marking their territory the whole time then in their minds, you are just an irritation at the end of the lead on their walk rather than a bonding/learning experience for you both.2. Use long lead (8-10 meters) and take them to a park/beach with distractions and call their name. If they don’t respond then you can gently tug on the lead towards yourself and praise them when they do come come back. Then try from all different directions to create that relationship that you are always the main priority regardless of other dogs/temptations. 3. Let them off lead and similar to step two, move around and change your position at the park/beach and call their name. When they come to you give them lots of pats/praise and repeat. If they don’t come to you initially, try walking away and calling their name and repeat step 2 if required 🙂.
