Crate training for this little cutie 😍

I love nothing more than teaching new puppy parents how to manage life with a new land shark & showing them how quick these little pups catch onto things..

It’s all in the way you train that gets you the results 🐾

This is the results of consistency and clear communication between handler & dog.

This is the first time I havnt “told” my dogs to go and chill in their crates or away, while we eat (reminder Riplee is a Labrador 🤣) and I came and sat down. They all came in hopes it was for them, but without hesitation they all went and layed down and Riplee went into his crate..

Now, once my dogs know they cannot beg for food - they can lay where they like as long as it’s not looking at me drooling or being too “close” waiting for food.. For Riplee to go in his crate was HIS CHOICE!

This all comes from simply putting them in their crate prior to our food being put on the table & not feeding them from your plate!
Very clear, very easy, very effective LONG TERM!

Lack of consistent Communication & understanding is the biggest issue in the people and dogs these days, so please make the effort to learn how to set boundaries so your dogs can make the right choices keeping both you and them happy & able to understand each other without the blur inbetween 🙏

These are the moments that make all the foundations and hard work worth it 🙏 this starts from the day they come home and yes that may be 8weeks old, 8months old or 8 years old!

Sometimes I forget that I’ve done all this with my pups from 8 weeks old and the results speak for them self, and that’s what makes it so rewarding ❤️

I tell all my clients to take their own water for their dog everywhere they go and NOT to let them drink from communal bowls so it prevents this!

Keep your dogs safe & take your own water & bowl!

Not only does it stop things like this happening. It also prevents any diseases or illness spreading between dogs..

along with ensuring your dogs don’t get upset tummies from different water for example my dogs get tank water at home so to them, tap water may make them have an upset tummy due to different chemicals in the water as opposed to the strait rain water they are used to 😞

You know you have crate trained right when they choose their crate to have a nap in 🥰

Training the right way from the start for our dogs is the most important part!

I teach YOU how they learn, what they do and the easiest but most effective way to teach your dog skills for the long term.. not just a “quick fix” this is how it’s done, go do it.. 🤦‍♀️

It’s important to understand the what, how & why behind each behaviour, so if your trainer tells you that you need to teach something ask them why.. I will ALWAYS explain to my clients the reason behind each behaviour & why I teach it, as I feel it is important you as the owner/handler know why we do what we do 🐾

Join us in our new class designed to get your pups out and about in a safe & controlled environment with the knowledge from a professional trainer. These classes are best done in addition to our Puppy Preps classes to get the full training benefits - discounts apply to past & current Puppy Preps attendee's if pup is within the age limits.

Yes this is safe for your puppies if they haven't had their 3rd vaccination due to the way we do our training. It is better to get your pups out before 16weeks old (under supervision & guidance by a trainer) rather than leave it till they are "fully vaccinated" leaving them with potential behaviour issues later in life due to critical development periods.

We are very excited to be able to start these sessions.

This year is already geared up to be a massive one!

🐾Regular clients - PLEASE message me with times & days you wish to train, as I am filling my books very quickly and the year has only just started! If we had regular sessions last year and you wish to keep them the same please let me know asap, otherwise as of next week all future appointments booked will be cleared and I will advise new times available.

🐾 New clients - yes I am taking on new clients, however I am usually booked about 2-5 weeks in advance so please try to schedule ahead to avoid disappointment, or having to wait multiple weeks to get a session.
*Anything from puppy basics, basic behaviours, manners, lead walking, walk & train, dog to dog work (with my dogs) walking, obedience, tricks, and anything inbetween.

🐾 Puppy Preps - pups aged 7-16weeks, 4 week course, $150 please email me with all your pups details & which clinic you wish to join and I will put you in the next available class - CLASSES ARE ALREADY FILLING QUICK WITH CLASSES STARTING NEXT WEEK!

As the year comes to an end, I would just like to thank all of my clients, present and past for your support, dedication to your dogs welfare & everyone you have recommended me to along the way!

I love working with each and every one of you and your wonderful pups, from starting out at 8weeks old all the way through to some senior dogs just touching up on manners.

Nothing is ever too hard to change in your dogs life, it all depends on how willing you are to help them change, and mould them into the dog you wish they were.

If you have a dog and wish to change something, whether it be better recall, better bond, better nutrition, better communication, higher skills in obedience or games don’t hesitate to book a class or session to get you on the right track. You may have watched some YouTube videos or online content but those “Guarentee’s” that your dog will be fixed, usually don’t last as they don’t give you the info behind the behaviours. So invest some time and money into your dog to see the results.

Your dog is a result of your efforts in training, your bond and obviously their breed & breeding 🙏

** quick reminder about keeping your dog safe during the festive season -
Keep them inside/locked up
Check gates are locked/closed
Lots of mental stimulation to keep their minds busy
Music or tv on to fade out the loud noises

We hope you have a wonderful day filled with lots of love & happiness!

Just remember - our pups can’t eat what’s on our plates, there is a lot of foods that are toxic to dogs that we may think they would like or be ok with.. so stick with their food/treats 🙏

Keep them safe & secure with different noises & parties etc hug them tight and let them help unwrap your pressies 🎄

What will they tell the reindeer 😳

That they are all of their carrots🥕🥕🥕🥕

Carrots are really good for your pup in many ways
🥕helps keep their teeth clean
🥕 provides enrichment
🥕 saves them chewing on things they shouldn’t
🥕 gets that “destruct/rip things up” out
🥕 healthy treat option
🥕 helps puppies teething
Anddddddd it’s a super cheap alternative to expensive chews 💲💲💲

Chop up some carrots for your visitors to give your pups as treats rather than feeding them all the left over food from Christmas, and all the things they shouldn’t be eating 🙏

Let your dogs BE DOGS 🙏

There are so many clients I get that say “oh my dog won’t p*e on the grass” or “they don’t like getting their feet wet”

Most of this comes from us being sooks when they are little and not going out in the rain with them.. sorry but it’s the truth 🙏

Take them out let them get wet & play in the puddles.. it might be slightly inconvenient for you but so much fun & enrichment for them! Plus it keep ours dogs versatile- being able to work/train in the rain if they had to ❤️

So go get your gum boots, raincoats & umbrellas out and have some fun with your pup in the rain… live life like your a dog & enjoy every opportunity ❤️

PS - these dog robes are the best thing since sliced bread!! They help dry your pups, while also keeping the water spray from shaking to a bare minimum so they can come back inside or in their crates to dry without your walls getting a dirty wash at the same time 🙏
- and yes we stock them (only for med-lg dogs) and can be personalised with your pups name like Riplee’s 🐾

‼️Lost pets ‼️

It is quite alarming how many dogs have been going missing or been found in our region over the past few months. So I thought I’d do a quick checklist for you to ensure you have it ticked off incase your dog/pet goes missing this holiday season.. especially with all the festive noises, parties, fireworks etc to be expected over the next month…

🐾 are they microchiped? If not go and get it done, it will save a lot of hassel! If they are chipped, ensure that your contact details are up to date - most people assume they are but just check incase!
🐾 do they have a tag on their collar with contact details? Ensure it is up to date!
🐾 call your vet and ensure your personal details are up to date as well
🐾 are their collars in good working order - no corroded clips/buckles, tears in the material etc
🐾 is your yard escape proof - and yes including under gates etc, when a dog is scared they go into flight mode and will do anything to escape if they feel scared or threatened so do a walk of your yard/area the dog stays, and ensure there is no gaps, loose fencing etc to get out - try and do this regularly
🐾 have locks on your gates so no one can open them easy enough while your not home
🐾 if you have tradies coming and going put up another smaller yard/pen for your dog to be in or tie them up, or have them inside to ensure you don’t blame the tradies for letting your dog out - it’s not their responsibility! Accidents happen and most dogs see freedom and don’t listen to strangers
🐾 teach your dog gate thresholds… this definitely helps keep them in the yard IF a gate is left open.. trust me it works - so teach your dogs not to go out an open door/gate until you say so.
🐾 when on walks with your dog, as your approaching your house say “go home” every time.. they learn to associate the house with “go home” - exactly like how they get excited when you say “walk” or “treat” etc..
🐾 play YouTube sounds for your dog - fireworks etc on low volume first, to get them used to random loud noises etc leading up to the festive season..
🐾 keep them mentally & physically stimulated enough to not want to escape your yard - some dogs escape due to boredom, not just being scared, and yes once they get out once they will continue to get out as it’s a thrill & rewarding for them and they know how!!

If in doubt, crate them when your not home, or a safe pen they can’t dig out, to ensure they remain at your house when not home, however if your yard isn’t secure, that’s the first thing you should do to keep your dog safe 🙂

This is not everything you can do to ensure they remain safe in your yard but definitely some important things to help 🙏 hopefully this helps keep more dogs in yards not on the street 🐾

‼️‼️Did you know‼️‼️

It is really important to keep your dogs feet tidy!

1️⃣It prevents prickle’s & seeds being caught in their fur between pads
2️⃣ it stops alot of mud & dirt being dragged into the house
3️⃣ it stops your pups from slipping so much on floors
4️⃣ it’s healthy for them to have clean feet to avoid sores
5️⃣ you can clearly see their pads & feet incase of cuts or anything stuck in their feetsies 🙏

Ps - these feet aren’t finished and nor am I a groomer so don’t judge 🤣🤣

Keep your pets well groomed!
Shoutout to my fav groomer Tracey at WASH clip groom for all her help along the way for all grooming needs for my dogs 🙏

If you need advice on brushes, to purchase the best shampoo & conditioner or anything else grooming related head down and ask the team 🙏
