Taking in an outside mare, especially a maiden mare, can be a challenge.....but the smile on Jo's face makes it all worth while. Grace and Felix are doing well....Jo may take a little longer to recover!

Took my 'baby' out to the last show of the year, run by the Tropical Coast Western Performance Club Inc. Big day for Penny but she handled it like a 'pro'. Thanks Maddie and Scarlet for helping out. It was a lovely show run by a great group of ladies...a perfect show to start Penny's showing career.

Had a great day at the Ingham Show. This local country show is so friendly and encouraging of the younger competitors. Every adult has a story about when they were a kid at a show so I hope the juniors from today can do the same. We can’t wait to see you again next year.

Townsville Show 2024 - a bit of a challenge this year preparing 2 horses for the show after 77mm of unseasonal rain. Ben won his Clydesdale Young Stock class and then on to win Grand Champion Young Stock of the Townsville Show. Not too bad for a 9 month old C**t at his first show in North Queensland Finesse was placed second in the mare class. A huge thanks to the show team Peta, Kynan, Ronan, Maddie and Ross.

Charters Towers Show 2023. Finesse was a 'model' horse and didn't put a hoof wrong.....not even the whirly wind that came across the ground didn't faze her....more ribbons! A big thanks to Peta, Jo and Luke for coming along. It really was a good day of showing horses, fun and laughter.

My grandparents came from a farming background and worked the family farm with heavy horses everyday. My grandfather would work them all day and then ‘turned them out’ at night. The only feed they got at the end of a hard days work was a ‘jam tin’ of grain. I was lucky enough to find an old photo of Freddy (left) and Danny. They were loved and admired by my aunts and uncles who talk very fondly about them.
