Fresh feeding doesnt have to be expensive !
💰A raw diet can be expensive, nearly/completely free, or anywhere in between. It depends on how & where you source your carnivore’s food from & how much prep time you’re able to put in.
🍖Even when sourcing meat from the more expensive venues such as supermarkets or butchers, clever shopping can reduce the cost dramatically.
☕️In fact, to feed one adult Dingo or medium-sized dog raw every day, can equate to less than the cost of a cup of coffee!
🛒Sourcing
🥩Pre-prepared raw food patties, found in the frozen section of pet food stores & some supermarkets. Be sure to check fat content & ensure they’re free from high-GI carbohydrate veg if you’re feeding a dingo.
🥩Raw suppliers: There’s a growing number of suppliers. Research raw food suppliers in your area or check one of the raw-feeding facebook groups for supplier lists.

💡Other Tips To Keep Costs Down:
👉Network & communicate with those local to you. Making connections with the right farmers, hunters, butchers & mobile butchers remains one of the easiest ways to reduce or remove the costs of feeding a raw diet.
❄️Invest in a chest freezer. This allows you to source in bulk, either when products are on sale, or when you have access to whole prey. Sourcing in bulk saves a lot of money longterm.
👨Let family and friends know that you'd take any freezer-burned meat if/when they have any to discard. Just ensure they're not seasoned or marinated meats.
🥩Generally speaking there does seem to be a trade off in the sense that the cheapest (or free) raw diets involve the most work: breaking down, butchering, portion prep, packaging, labelling, transporting, freezer space. Whereas the cost increases comparatively the less time and/or physical work you’re able to put in to prep, which is understandably different for everyone.
