George taking the obstacles like a champ! š¤©
Just a little video showing George travelling nice and relaxed.
This young gelding is easy to get along with and is taking everything in his stride. Obstacles, cattle, trail riding or just loping around, heās getting to be the relaxed little fella I saw hidden in him when we first met.
He will definitely have all the looks and buttons to make someone a flashy, do anything pony!!
Continuing to work and develop on Georgeās confidence with different challenges. Heās really turning into a very chilled out little dude! š
Georgeās first ride under-saddle
First ride under-saddle with George this morning, working on thinking forward, loose and relaxed whilst staying soft in his neck and face.
Cassā first encounter with a busy road
All throughout a horses training, I try to expose them to as much as possible. This is to ensure that wherever they leave with their new owners, they are experienced with as much as possible. All of our horses are trained to remain calm and look to their rider for guidance in all different situations. Using clicker training, our horses learn that instead of running away and being scared of something, they are to approach it. This forms a very brave and independent horse.
Here we have my 4 year old Heritage Stock Horse having her first encounter with a busy road. She took everything in her stride!!
Have you heard of Extreme Cowboy Racing??
This competition is based on completing a series of obstacles as fast as you can whilst demonstrating your skill and connection between horse and rider.
Maddie is the perfect pony for the job!
Whilst starting a horse, Iām sure to make them desensitised to as much as I can. To do this, I use clicker training! Maddie has been taught all throughout her training that if something is worrying her, she walks towards it instead of running away. This creates a very brave and independent horse.
This is great for riding over obstacles, but also a fantastic tool to have for everyday riding!
Maddie is still looking for her forever home, if youāre interested let me know and we can make a time for you to meet her!
Beautiful day to take Maddie down to our local riding club here at Yackandandah. Nothing fazes this girl!
Maddie is still available, pm me if you have any questions or if you would like to come and meet her.
First glimpse of hot weather and Cass & Hank are into it!!
Colt Start Internship Acceptance 2024
So happy to receive an email this morning from The Australian Cowgirl Co. accepting my application for the Woodstock Paint Horses Horsewomen Touch Colt Start Internship. Very excited to be part of this in April 2024!!
How much do you trust your horse??
Another test for Maddie today!
Thanks to everyone that has messaged me about your interest on this lovely little mare, at the moment Iām just trying to perfect a few little things. However, Iām hoping to put together a sale video in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out! š
During Maddieās training, weāve really tried to exposed her to as much as possible. Living on a farm I have the opportunity to introduce her to a whole range of things like the tractor, my brothers riding their motorbikes, the Polaris side-by-side flying past and the selection of obstacles we have here at Natural Equine Solutions. However today, Maddie got the chance to further her experience with cattle! Taking everything in her stride, she didnāt put a foot wrong.
