At Pegasus Lodge Stud horses are our passion, hobby and our entertainment. Owned and operated by husband and wife team Sarah and Richard with all the hard work being observed by our three children. Our stud was inspired by a lack of reasonably priced unspoiled palominos available on the market so Sarah decided to breed her own gorgeous, well bred and importantly good mannered pally babies. Though

has no regrets having spent years riding the spoiled and often feral ones. Our broodmares are selected (or created) for their type, temperament and bloodlines. Young stock is often available and if purchased before registration papers are lodged clients have the opportunity to name their own foal and have a payment plan whilst still on the dam. Coloured young stock that will be available are Champagne, Palomino, Buckskin and spectacular dilute tobiano and rare cream champagnes all will be stud book Australian Stock Horse with proven pedigree. At Pegasus Lodge Stud we aim to produce show quality, well bred, athletic coloured horses without compromise. We breed, ride and train our own horses and all young broodmares have been ridden by us to assess their temperament, ability and willingness to perform. Our talented young stock has just hit the show scene with their purchasers and are living up to our high standards. We aim to create a quality equine partner that is versatile, athletic and correct enough to succeed in the show ring, be handy around cattle and calm enough to want to enjoy on the trails. Australian Stock Horses are described as The breed for every need. Stock Horses’ are currently competing with success in dressage, show jumping, pony club, polocrosse, team penning, hacking and are renewed for their incredible talent, agility and versatility. Both stallions are NHMS trained, broken in and ridden by us. Both stallions are ASHS dna certified, fully stud book registered and offer the bonus of colour and type. Standing at stud at world renowned Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital where Angus McKinnon the equine reproduction specialist is based. The two heffalumps Mima and Montana today for their daily checks. Mima’s bag has eclipsed Montanas now, so the race is on.

Polly has had the year off having babies. Rubys loving life in QLD now. And Eros has just done a lot of standing around and eating.

Ole Vegas the donkey face is looking magnificent. She must be getting close to 20 now. We’ve had her since she was 2-3 I think. Loving the dapples she’s sporting.

There are times I think “gosh I’m clever!” I bred these three gorgeous creatures Mylah, Porchia and her 1/2 sister Dahlia. Ridden them all over the place and now they’re having foals of their own.

After a 15 minute discussion to get on the float, I loaded Abby and then Sav and off we went to Mathoura to my partner in crime, Tara’s. Abby had her first ride in years, and off she went like she’d done it yesterday. Gale force winds, ride on mowers, trucks, leaves blowing under our feet’s, woofy dogs, nothings a drama for her. Even had a little canter. She’ll stay at Tara’s and get a few more hours under saddle there.

My first ride back on Sav after he dumped us both on our heads hunting. Lucky I love him madly and getting on him feels like coming home.

Zephyr has finished his training. Floats, hard ties, picks up feets and does all the big horse things now. So he’s out with the hooligans until I decide what to do with him. He’s still a c**t for now but that may change.

Spring has definitely sprung here at Pegasus Lodge Stud. Full bellies, hair everywhere and broodie zoomies in full swing. Couple of mares have slight udder change. A few mares nearly at the safe zone of 320 days gestation.

Now sold.
Selling our Polaris 2011 90cc kids quad, 80kg weight rated. It’s barely been used, our kids didn’t use it much so it’s probably only done 50 hours since new. Excellent little toy, goes just fast enough. Everything on it is original as it’s just sat in the shed.

Gave Macca a friend. Tully thinks he’s stupid, noisy and annoying and has no need for him given she has a Dusty baby in her. But he’s much happier with a paddock buddy now. Even if she’s not feeling the love yet.

Whyview Pep to an Acre aka Macca is back at Pegasus Lodge for the breeding season. His lease is now in my name and we’re just waiting on AQHA to finalise the rest of his 7 panel. He’s PHAA approved, homozygous black and approx 15hh

Looking forward to doing his photo shoot soon and seeing what the future holds.

And for my darling stalkers he’s easy to see in the paddock near the road in front of my house. Love you lot.

Pirate (or Pie as we call him) aka Pegasus Lodge Cptn Jack Silver with his new humans. He’s just finished 10 weeks at the breakers and now having a break until next year. He is just the most lovely horse, super genuine and forgiving and just overall such a lovely boy. Everyone who sees him comments on how special he is.

Our little Oscar aka Pegasus Lodge Ace of Spades is all grown up now and is drop dead gorgeous. I believe he matured to 16hh from two 15hh parents. He’s got glorious spots and patches like his granddam Bitty and aunt Puzzle.

Pm me your favourite pics of your PL kids being used and loved and I’ll make them famous too.

Bonus points for kiddos or matchy matchy brilliance like these two super stars.

Proud breeder moment today when I was fortunate enough to witness, my darling friend Tara’s, first ride on her Silv kid Brax. She’d given him a solid foundation and he’d just been finished off by her long time childhood friend James. Brax is going beautifully with a sensible mind, gorgeous movement and a can do attitude. I’m looking forward to what the future brings with all my friends on their Silv and Pegasus Lodge fur kids.

I’ve just organised Zephyr’s colour genetics. He’s the least silver looking black silver foal I’ve created. All others by Fox are the standard chocolate and cream. I’m testing him for silver, agouti, red/black, sabino1, tobiano and W20.

He should be homo black, agouti neg, one silver, one tobiano (and 7 panel neg) by parentage. I personally hand covered Stella with Fox, the magnificent homo black and homo silver ASH stallion, and preg tested her 15 days later. Her dates line up and Stella foaled at 365 days.

He’s kept his testicles for now as EE, aa silver tobiano c**t will be handy to have for the future. He’s unrelated to alot of my patchy mares, he’s a lovely quiet and easy little dude to have around and he’s wild to look at.

So we will see what f**kery has gone on if he comes back silver neg. Quinn is the only stallion on the place that can create black. And he was in with client mares and no where near Stella at the time of breeding. But they don’t always do what they should, aka Mima and her mystery foal brewing. Zephyr looks like a random Paint stallion snuck in and did the deed.

The champagne kiddos Primrose and Magnolia are feeling spicy today in the rain. Prim especially so 🌶️ Video taken out my kitchen window so excuse the quality. I like to keep them where I can see my super special bubbly delights.

Lovely ride at Barmah this morning with one of my favourite humans, Tara. I rode Biskit and Tara had a go on Puzzle. It got a bit warm after lunchtime, but we got the job done and the ponies had a nice cool off once we got home.

My first trail ride on our little pocket rocket stallion Quinn today. First time on the float with Sav too since coming home. He’s had it pretty easy since being broken in as I’ve been busy renovating and moving home. But his holiday is over.

And the second ride of the day. A quick clip clop round the block on Mima and Polly the two heffalump floofs.

Magnificent ride on the big fellows Sav and Eros today out at Loch Garry with Jenna Currie. Excellent day in the company of a lovely friend.

Dusty enjoyed his rug free day today and did some zoomies.

Sorry for the Ed spam. But he’s my whole world currently. I’d just milked out his dam and tried to bottle feed again. Still no good. If any one has any hot tips or suggestions, throw them at me please. Same with the bucket holder. This works but I’m open to suggestion. But he can smash down a bucket of milk like a champion. I was scratching Polly and she was nuzzling him. So so sweet.

Pegasus Lodge Thumper at the trainer strengthening his canter skills. Look at him go! His human Jenna couldn’t be prouder of how this big boy is maturing. I’m so glad I broke her no foals rule. First with Thumper and then with Nero.

Quinn cam, he’s such a little legend. Thanks to Tara for the video and riding him. I’m glad you two worked out now that I’ve put foals in all the little ridden mares. Even I can’t get a stallion pregnant, so he’ll always be available for you 😂 And thanks for Gamberlee Stock horses for doing such an excellent job training him to saddle for us.
