Alice and her sidekick, Oopsie playing on the couch ( weather is horrible outside) and puppies Mish and Parker playing in front of the fireplace. Alice is a standard dachshund, she is staying with us for a few days while her brave parents are camping - hope they are not going to die of exposure 😝😝😝
Took pups and adults to the Huon river. Met our neighbours with two adorable six year old boys and two dogs( fully vaccinated and very friendly).
Cold morning today. We found an old, soft dome puppy bed somewhere in a shed and puppies loved it.
Two bigger boys playing while waiting for breakfast
Puppies from both litters are together now which makes life easier for me. It was a very good thing for the younger puppies who are trying to copy the big ones. Older dogs are allowed to
visit, father Lowick takes very little interest in his offspring 🙃.
Puppies not quite sure what to make of the staircase…
Their first meal of meat. Instant success; little predators licked the bowl clean!
Visit from the relatives. Flossy doesn’t mind, I think puppies are starting to lose their shine😂.
Puppies discovered toys. The red boys was trying to kill an elephant but lost the balance!
Three older puppies are now in the pen in the lounge room, to be joined by their two younger half siblings next week. Flossy gives them afternoon snack lying on the floor, very hot here today.
Three older puppies opened their eyes few days ago. So cute…
Puppies are growing and putting weight on. They look now like little fat pears; Flossy doesn’t want to leave them and has to be coaxed to go outside! Eyes and ears are still closed.
They are here! Flossy had her puppies three days earlier than expected. Red boy, black and tan boy and red girl, all big, fat puppies who are putting weight on steadily and growing well. Flossy is very experienced mum, very attentive and has plenty of milk. So no worries there I feel. Manon is due in a week and it might be a different story altogether with a new, first time mum😁.
I am very surprised that many people seem to forget the relationship between the dog and the bone. Many times I’ve been asked the incredible question: “ Can you give bones to a dog??” Yes, you can and you should…Here puppies and older dogs enjoying the “chuck” bone our local butcher cut into pieces for them. While they chewing on the bones they can’t destroy furniture or shoes, they clean their teeth and most importantly, they get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
Watch to the end and you will see flight through the doggie door and a bit of traffic jam😀
Dinner time. Puppies graduated to chicken wings cut through the joint. Few more weeks and it will be possible to give them chicken wing whole - less work for me and puppies will be occupied for longer!
Waiting for breakfast. Lounge room looks like a gym for vertically challenged
Sumo fighting in front of the fire on the rug. Little Morty stands his ground against bigger pup.
Miss Grey killing her sister😜
