Walks with two of my star pack members today, the BFG and Nymeria were so well behaved and had a beautiful play together after our walk.
Did you know that the best way to introduce dogs is to walk them together? This gives them that pack feeling and are generally far more relaxed with one another once you get back into one of their territories. It worked a great today and these two are now good puppy pals 😍
Introducing Edwin (Eddie), my helper at the moment who has just landed here from South Africa and absolutely loves dogs!
This was our first walk with a new puppy pal Nala, an 11 month old ridgeback and as you can see Eddie walked her like a pro. Nala’s furmum has done an excellent job training her on the leash and she’s a dream to walk!
Please help me Welcome Eddie and Nala to my pack!
If you have a pawesome pal who needs more walks (or runs), send us a message and we will do our best to fit you in!
Rio’s first attempt at herding sheep went really well, thinking about getting a few for home 🤣 it’s great to get advice and training from an expert in the breed!
Super grateful for my new friend and partner in crime who is assisting me with the walks and pet sits while I’m away which is allowing us to help more people with their 4 legged pals. If you’ve been wanting a hand with your dog send us a message and we will send you our booking link to get it happening! Cayla is very passionate about training and loves dogs so much so she’s the perfect side kick and I’m so happy to have her on board! Here’s a little clip of Luna out for a walk with her the other day 💜
Rio and Nymeria did extremely well on their first proper walk together today 😍 if anyone is looking for a friend for their dog, Nymeria is lonely and looking for a new home. She’s a gorgeous girl and well worth meeting if you are looking to expand your family 💜
So good to have a morning cool enough to get some of my four legged friends out for walks finally! Looking forward to the cooler weather when I can be more consistent.
Also very impressed with both Luna and George today, considering I haven’t seen them since the end of November, they’re both much calmer since I met them for the first time which tells me their humans have put in the work over the Xmas break and maintained their training - well done team!
Trying to get the Kelpie out of the Kelpie 🤦🏼♀️
Rio wants to chase anything with wheels and barks at people 😤
This is my own fault for not taking her out enough when she was younger. The vet recommended I take her for a walk each day or night holding her in my arms so that she gets used to cars and people - I didn’t do it enough and now having to deal with the consequences!
She is however really good on the lead when there are no cars or people so we are off to a good start in that department. It’s far easier to train them when they are little so I’m putting the work in now to create a calm and balanced dog 💜
Rio’s first swim went swimmingly 😍🤣 we are super happy she isn’t afraid of the water, can’t wait to get her to the beach 💜
Found my old rotti’s kong ball this week and it’s been so good for Rio! Not only is it fun for her but it makes her think and tires her out while she figures out how to get her kibble out of it!
I highly recommend things like this, simple problem solving exercises like this stimulate and challenge your dog with a positive reward for solving it. Building your dogs confidence with these problem solving challenges is super important. Wrapping kibble or treats in a small blanket or towel is also a good one.
These ideas are also good for the pooches that inhale their food or are overweight!
Rio met her match today and is now officially buggered! Only 2-1/2 weeks to go til I can get her out for walks etc.
