I thought this clutch was going to be empty, but looks like we could have at least 1. The first 3 were kicked out of the nest too. 🤞
From yesterday <3 I've got a good feeling about this one!
Finally, a new baby! I wasn't sure this was going to happen, to be honest. I let Sven have one last clutch because they both seemed good after their second of only 1 bub. She laid 10 or 11 eggs, I can't remember off the top of my head. Only this little one made it.
Most were infertile and the only other 2 fertile ones died early on. I left all the eggs in there until today and left one egg with this bub. I'll take it out tomorrow. I didn't want to take all her eggs hit in case it stressed her. She's a great mum though. Bub is fed and seems good, so hopefully I get something nice here.

Being sick has really sucked so I've pretty much thrown food at the birds and that's it this week. Look at how well this one is growing though! I thought it shows a little better in a video
I've had the 3 oldest jump out of the nestbox once each now, whether intentionally or not. I've just popped them back in but not long until they're out full time.

They're getting pretty big now. I'll try to get some better pictures of the younger ones over the next couple of days as they are getting a few feathers now.

Some cute <3 The eldest is 3 weeks old tomorrow and the youngest is about 1.5 weeks old. I'm not sure if you can see well in the video but the eldest two have yellow suffusion in their feathers as they are white cap. It's more noticeable in the oldest.

They're getting so big! It should be a pretty clutch once they're all feathered up. It's really interesting to watch them grow and trying to figure out what they all are.

Just before this video I was watching the eldest starting to eat the millet. It looks like he's trying to chew the little one's foot here though. Also I'm not sure if you can hear what my hubby says before I giggle but he's complaining that I said we were late then I'm hanging out with the birds 😆 Always time for baby birds!
