In times like this, take your dogs for a walk, away from everyone. Let them sniff, let them enjoy your company, play with them, train them.

That was some storm last night! 🌩⚡️.
How did your fur babies cope? Here are some tips to help keep your pets calm during thunder storms:

⛈ First and foremost, stay calm! If you panic, they’ll panic. Animals are very instinctive and will pick up on your fear. Try to remain neutral, in control and patient. Talk to them just like normal - if you can get them playing during the storm, even better!
⛈ Provide your pet with a safe, indoor space to feel protected during a storm. This could be a warm laundry, garage or bring their crate indoors - anywhere they will feel comfortable. Lots of dogs escape yards during storms and end up getting lost amid the panic. Always best to bring them indoors.
⛈ If you’ve got time, consider thunderstorm training. A quick YouTube search will find thunderstorm videos. Start by playing the sounds gently, while going about your daily routine. Increase the sound each day until it reaches a realistic level. If your dog appears afraid, redirect them to a pleasant activity such as playing.
⛈ Make sure your pets are microchipped and the details are current. In the unfortunate event of them running off, you want to make sure people know who their hoomans are!

If you’re still concerned, definitely speak with your Vet. There are natural remedies available to help calm anxiety in pets.

We are a new small, local business that specialises in making all sort of healthy treats for dogs and cats. Quality control done by our animals.
My name is Inga, I have been studying animals behaviour and nutrition for over 3 years now and have always undestrimated my knowledge until one day my partner told me it's time to share what I have got with the world.
"Practice what you preach" they say. For the last couple of years, I have been feeding my dogs and cats exactly what I believe and know is good for them. And I'm happy with the results.
This little business doesn't have a name nor logo yet, as I have no idea how those things work but I will get there.

Alert - smoke inhalation and your pets

We have just heard a very sad story of a dog from the Central Coast of NSW who died from smoke inhalation. Even though he was not in close proximity to a bushfire, the amount of smoke in the air resulted in extremely poor air quality.

Please be aware of this if you have smoke around your area and make sure your pets are brought inside. Some common symptoms to watch for include:

Extreme coughing or wheezing
Red, irritated eyes
Lethargy and weakness
Increased, difficulty breathing

Share this extremely important information with pet-owning friends in areas that are affected by smoke.

The weather is heating up, the temperature is expected to reach 36 degrees +, so please consider your pets. A few tips to consider.....

* Be sure to provide plenty of fresh water and shade for your animals if they will be outside.

* If possible, allow access to indoors where they can keep themselves cool.

* Freeze ice block treats for them overnight.

* Think of the wildlife around your home, leave water containers out in areas where birds can safely drink.

* DO NOT LEAVE YOUR ANIMALS IN THE CAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

* Before considering taking your dog for a walk, stand on the concrete and road in bare feet and see if you can cope with the heat. If you can’t, neither can your dog so it'll be to hot for a furry friend. 😉

* Invest in a clam pool and buy a few bags of ice to create this! Pure happiness ❤️
