Nothing worse then getting your horse home from being freshly broken and your dressage saddle (all I have at the moment) that can go wide as wide can go don’t fit. Just the whole wrong shape for him. Hopefully have a saddle that will fit him better soon 😅.
Good excuse though for a wash and a clean fresh rug. Tiny but rug is 5’9 and not too big on him. Wide as he is tall 😂😂.

Hickasha Dodgen Stars is headed home for a well earned break, Katrina Darragh , Tyrone Darragh at Tyrone Darragh Performance Horses. We can not thank you enough for looking after Dodge and doing a fabulous job with breaking him in, 10/10 communication and that made it much easier to decide with sending him to complete strangers in a whole different state. Can’t wait to see how he turns out in the near future 😁.

Won’t be long now until Dodge is home from the breakers. Nothing but good news about he’s progress and I’m super excited to have my first ride on him. He will have a spell and then head back for some on & off training with a trainer who will then take him out for campaigning & showing in all cow type events. Predominately cutting , challenges and the occasional draft.

Future is looking bright for him so fingers crossed the plan for he’s future continues.

Thank you so much for giving him a good start and foundation for he’s future.
No doubt you’ll see him again 🖤

Bum high or bumhigh. Every photo looks like he’s ass just keeps growing without he’s chest. Few weeks and I’ll get to have my first ride on this fella.
Before he goes on spell.
2025 hopefully will be he’s year to shine in some hopefully furturity Events, cutting, cowhorse challengers & possibly drafting.

Inbeteeen here and then we won’t rush / push him to do anything strenuous until he develops a little bit more and comes time for prep.

All who are / was following dodge on he’s breaking process.

Here’s. Photo taken today of the chunk,
Going well under saddle, very smart, sensible not nerves at all in him & should hopefully be having some cattle work done shortly.
He was to smart and bored to leave in the paddock so we thought we will start him and see where we end up, will have a spell and then back and forth training and spelling until In full spring for futurity 2yo training / work hopefully. Fingers crossed he makes a quality horse out of him self 😁😁

Been with the breaker for 18 days and going well already under saddle. Will update once we get some videos and more photos 😀

Super proud of Hickasha Dodgen Stars yesterday,
Had his first show at the Northern NSW foal Show yesterday and came away with 2x CHAMPIONS & 2x RESERVE CAMPIONS led c**t.

Cannot thanks Hannah Rose owner of Haluma Welsh Cobs for all the hard work they have done with prepping him and taking him to his first ever show with their little show team, Blake Campbell for stepping out and taking him in the ring, very much appreciated & Kathryn Covic for lending me her pretty halter! Life saver, Amy-Sue Alston Photography for the professional photos (once they are ready I’ll upload them here). Dodge was a bit tired by the end of the big day and just wouldn’t cooperate and stand square 😂 but photos are nice anyways! Thank you.
Also thanks to the show committee, Judges & all competitors involved.

First ever show and to think I was going to pull him out last minute as I didn’t think he would be ready. So glad I didn’t and what a great experience for him to have!

No parents are roan or grey but he has a lot of flecking coming through.

Can not wait until this boy joins our herd next year sometime ! Dodge already has plans to hopefully head to some shows down in Victoria with his breeder at Hickasha Quarter horse & Performance Horse stud and then will come home and hopefully go and do some shows up here in NSW with another stud campaigning him if he decides to take to halter classes🐴

Colour test results came back as Ee aa so his black with a chance of throwing chestnuts to chestnut mares
