🐴 Come along for a little ride as I talk about softness and how I like my breakers to feel before heading home 🐴
Notice how there’s no arguments or anxiety when being asked to slow, bend, stop, bend, turn etc all done in a willing soft manner.
This guys had 20 odd rides in the arena and 4/5 out side on trails etc (6 week program)
Not all horses go home with this level of ability, though my program definitely allows them to feel like this if they are physically and mentally ready for it.
Behind the ears of a 3yo breaker on his first ride out of the arena as we finish his second week here.
He’s a perfect example of how we like them
Willing
Confident
Happy
From what I’ve learnt over the years is the less you make a horse do the more the are willing to give. This horse wouldn’t have more then 1 hours training and here we are achieving great results for him and the start of his riden journey. They aren’t all like this that I definitely know. #coltstarter #coltstartingaustralia

Real world experiences is what we offer here, the quicker you get out of the arena the better. Every horse needs to be a horse before they head down the path of their choosen discipline.
2 more geldings from returning clients Stirrling Arabians turned up to be started under-saddle here at Tortuga! Safely travelled by the experts at Ro's Horse Transport

I’m very lucky to have quiet streets to take horses out on, then once I feel they are confident enough we hit peak hour at school pick up/drop off to really get them exposed to the real world out side of the arena.
Real word experiences for this pony’s second week under saddle.
