(Retired now) I love animals and have a strong affinity with them. I am a humble, peaceful and loving person who loves helping and educating my Puppy Preschool Clients who attend classes at Peninsula Veterinary Surgery. I just really want people to go away with the tools they need to positively create a strong and balanced bond with their new Fur babies.

Happy New Year! 🐶🐶
In regards to Fireworks tonight whether they are scheduled or illegal, they can be terrifying to some of our beloved pooches.
Some helpful tips are:

- Make sure your pets are safe and secure. Bring them inside or into a secure room if you will be out.
- Play the TV or some soothing music. No heavy metal or loud action movies! We don’t want to scare them even more! Common sense People! 😊
- If you are home with them, let them sit with you to feel secure but be confident vocally with them. So no baby voice saying ‘I know it’s so scawy isn’t it’. If you are calm, confident and chill your dog will pick up on that and feel more comfortable.
- Try distracting by playing with their favourite toy.
- You can buy pheromone plug ins and sprays or calming vests that help from Pet Stores or Veterinary Clinics.
Some dogs may even require Veterinary medication to calm them.

Let’s make one of the worst nights to some of our dogs as stress free as possible. 🥰🐶🎉

What do we do on a hot day? We play outside then play inside in the Air Con! Mabel, Sunny, Milo and Otis living it up at Doggy Daycare.
