Cobb and Co Festival Day 2
‘Gaemond’ was the morning tea stop for day 2 and this is where the clydesdales and the cobs started their day, next stop Yuleba.
After a tidy up of the gear, Jessie and Buzz are both harnessed and ready for the final 12km.
This type of trip doesn’t happen without a support crew. Thanks to Tim for bringing us the harness and helping to get organised, Sterling for doing a “quick trip” so Buzz could walk into Yuleba with everyone, and Charles and Anna for driving us around to pick up vehicles and get all our gear to where it needed to be. This trip would not have happened without them.
Both horses are young and do not have much experience in harness, however they did a fantastic job dealing with cars, trucks, other horse and carts. Both walked into Yuleba and were a part of a history.

Cobb and Co Festival, 100 yr re-enactment.
It was a huge effort by a few amazing people to make this a reality for Fairyland Gypsy Cobs.
The journey to get there started with training the horses and we thank Sam and Kellie Dolbel for all their help in getting Jessie and Buzz ready. Next we need to thank O’Keeffe Farrier Services for making the late mad dash to get their shoes on for the hard road ahead.
Day one started in Surat and we chose to do the first 12km to the morning tea stop. All didn’t go to plan due a harness break however, Jessie got her passengers there safely and Buzz got a lift in the truck.
We loaded up and made our way to our camp for the night. We stayed at ‘Gaemond’ which was the last Cobb and Co change station. The Gypsy Cobs weren’t the only guests there for the night, the gentle giants from Duneske Clydesdales joined us. Thank you to the Allwood family for hosting us all and 10 horses, your hospitality hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Day one done and dusted.
