πΎ Summer is here, and so are seasonal hazards for our furry friends! πΎ
As temperatures rise, it's essential to be aware of potential dangers that can affect your beloved pets. Here are some key hazards to watch out for:
π₯ Heatstroke: Ensure your pets stay cool and hydrated. Avoid excessive exercise during the hottest part of the day, never leave them in parked cars, and remember that if the ground is too hot for your feet, it's too hot for theirs too.
π Fleas: Regularly check your pets and use preventative treatments to keep them protected year-round.
π Christmas Tinsel: While festive, tinsel can pose a serious danger if ingested by curious cats and dogs, potentially causing severe internal blockages. Keep all decorations out of reach and never leave your pets unsupervised with their toys. Remember to put them away after play.
βοΈ Thunderstorms and Fireworks: Loud noises can be very stressful for pets. Create a safe, quiet space for them, and consider using calming aids if your pet is particularly anxious. Contact your vet for more information.

Miss Pudd is still looking for her forever home, do you or someone you know have space for this sweet girl? Please contact the clinic for more details on adoption
Kitten looking for bright futures!! Millee and Marco are brother and sister who, along with a littermate, were handed in as wee babies suffering from viral eye infections. Millee and Marco are now better but have permanent scarring in one eye each, and a small risk of future problems (though are clinically normal now). Millee is the girl and is darker, and Marco is the boy and is lighter. They are bright, playful and affectionate. We would love them to go together, to a new home, but they can be separated. Their adoption cost is $300 each which includes their core kitten vaccinations and desexing. Please call the hospital on 94191346 and speak with Nurse Jo who is their foster carer.
