Oh Dave, the neighbours pony that’s taken residence at ours, Dave gets to roam free on the property, is spoilt with lots of treats and occasionally a students packed lunch 🤣 but he’s such a beautiful soul and we adore having him 🥹🐴

A huge congratulations to our amazing students who put in a massive effort in raising funds for our annual rideathon! This years theme was blue and we're loving the turnout of both ponies and riders! All funds raised go towards our Christmas party and presentation at the end of this term 🐴🎄

We are heart broken to be sharing the news that since returning from being missing, our beloved Bella became really unwell and on the morning of Sunday 12th February she passed away. Bella was a 1 in a million type of horse, she was kind natured, willing, quiet, moved beautifully, patient and more. She has touched the hearts and boosted the confidence of hundreds of aspiring horse riders and will be sorely missed by many. May her beautiful soul rest in peace ❤️

As much as we are absolutely devastated by the loss of our unicorn, it means we are now in need of a replacement lesson horse. Please contact us if you know of something suitable that’s available.

Morning Wauchope, well I am in the shop today salvaging and sorting. Still heaps of stock and clothing that had survived unscathed. Although I cant have people walking around the shop I'm happy to serve from the front door. Could really do with help to sell as much as stock as possible so happy to give discounts on whatever items you want. 🙏

Replace with husband horse or non-pro horse or amateur friendly horse, etc. etc. etc.

It's too easy to label a horse as husband safe or kid safe or amateur friendly because last I checked, humans and horses do not have labels sewn into their bodies. Horses and people are all one of a kind and should be considered a limited edition.

Every human being is different. Personality wise, work ethic, skill level, emotional intelligence, experience, the list goes on. So a perfectly good horse, labeled amateur friendly can be driven mad simply because the amateur lacks skill, lacks patience, lacks motivation, lacks feel and timing, lacks confidence for example. Yet, the same horse can thrive with another amateur because this person is more balanced as a horse person.

The horse and rider need to be matched personally, not by labels, in my opinion. The more good qualities you carry, the more options you have in the horse market. The less you have, the narrower the market to find a horse that will be a good match. And then there's price, and that's a whole other playing field. A small budget while being limited in good qualities can be such a hard thing to find.

We need to stop expecting the horse to fit us, especially when we haven't invested in the whole relationship with the horse. Simply buying a trained one, doesn't mean it'll stay trained and stay the way it was labeled in the first place. But when you invest in having a relationship with the horse, which includes learning how to train and manage your own horse, you'll be so much more fulfilled anyway. The key to having the horse of your dreams isn't about finding the one in a million necessarily, but it's about making that one horse mean the world to you.
