It’s been a very quiet week here after the passing of the matriarch, Whiskey Blues 💕

Her life wasn’t always easy prior to coming to me, but she spent nearly 15 years being the absolute love of my life & my world is shattered without her here.

Stephanie will be at WestVETS Equine Hospital at Anstead Westvets clinic next Friday 11th August, and available for appointments for your horse at lunchtime/early afternoon. If you've noticed your horse is a little stiffer/harder in one direction, or resistant under saddle including during transitions, grinding/unsettled in mouth, reluctant to work over the back this is the perfect opportunity to get your horse assessed. Over the weekend I was extremely proud to sponsor the Champion Led Partbred Heavy Horse at Sunshine Coast Show - Horse Events.
It was won by Jenny Carpenters’ Partbred Gypsy Cob, Kengsington Park Ronni!

The end of a spectacular weekend at Gatton Heavy Horse Field Day - Clydesdale and Heavy Horse Field Day

We at Gumnut Lodge sponsor a few classes over the weekend and are proud supporters of the Clydesdale Cross Sport horses 🌟

The Champion led Clydesdale Cross Sport horse was won by the beautiful mare “Asham Nicolette” & Kate Mayjor 💐

The first place ridden Clydesdale Cross Sport horse was won by the spunky young gelding “Bodacious” ridden by Maddison Giess; who also won the Junior Rider 17 years and under! 🌻

Congratulations to all competitors, we look forward to seeing you next year!

GL Lofty Ambitions - Gatton Heavy Horse Field Day - Clydesdale and Heavy Horse Field Day

Mr Lofty unfortunately has had to be scratched from ridden events but he made up for it in his leds with him splitting hairs from the blue in both classes 😎

🥇 All breeds Led Obstacle (of 55 entries!!)

The sporthorses were well represented - biggest classes since it’s introduction at Gatton 🥰

As always, we never get to these things alone - Marilyn Stocks put all the finishing touches on him; Grant Forge & Farriery keeps him shod even though it’s not a relationship built on love; WRT Hay & Feed Shed supplies all his feed as well 🌟

Often people turn over a few horses with the same behavioral traits.
This is not because they buy horses with the same traits its because they create horses with the same traits.
Horses are a product of their immediate environment.
When ever we are with them we are training them.
Good and bad.

“GL Lofty Ambitions” had his first dressage competition Sunday and the general consensus was “hey he actually went pretty good” for 55.75% & 60.79% and need to go get him a dressage saddle!
