TRANQUILA DOG TRAINING
Hi all
We are getting in early in preparation for our term 3 Obedience classes and puppy school. Classes consist of a 5 week program (1hr each week) costing $150 in total. Our classes cover all the usual aspects of obedience training, however as one of my main qualifications is in behaviourology, there is also a strong focus on your dogs physical, psychological and social wellbeing. WAYWARD WOOFERS WALK
What's it all about ? These walks are designed to help people who are avoiding walking their dogs in public because of how their dog reacts. It may be reactivity, fear based behaviours, over the top excitement or just poor social manners. All these can cause the owners to be frustrated, fearful, embarrassed or all of the above. These walks are conducted in small groups of no more than 4, where I can give you one on one guidance on how to deal with these behaviours, within the comfort of a group of like-minded people. So term 3 has come to a close with obedience classes in both Orbost and Lake Tyers Beach finishing up the last couple of weeks. Once again it was such a pleasure to work with such lovely people and their canine companions. Looking forward to term 4.

ITS ALL IN THE NAME !!😊
Tranquila (pronounced tran-kii-la) is the spanish word for peace calm & tranquility. Nearly every client having doggy troubles, at some stage tells me they just want peace or calm back in their lives. I'm sure if doggos could talk they would say the same thing.

Term 2 is done and dusted and once again it was a joy to work with such a lovely group of people and puppas. TRANQUILA DOG TRAINING
Good morning all. Term 2 Obedience Classes are in their final 2 weeks. Great bunch of people and their 4 legged friends. Expression of interest coming out soon for those interested in term 3 classes. It has come to my attention however that some people are reluctant to join the classes due to concerns about their dogs behaviour. Please don't let this hold you back as a good part of my classes deal with problem behaviours. No-one will be turned away or made to sit in the naughty corner😂. Additional to this, if you have real concerns I offer one on one pre class sessions to help you prepare yourself and fur friend prior to classes commencing. Quick tip for the day !
Incompatible behaviours refer to behaviours that can not physically be performed while also performing the unwanted behaviour. Eg. A dog that is trained to lay down can not physically be jumping up at the same time. Teaching a dog a new behaviour that is incompatible with an unwanted behaviour is alot easier and creates a much more positive experience than trying to train a dog out of an unwanted behaviour. If the dog has a positive experience in what you are teaching, it will be much more likely to repeat the newly learnt behaviour in the future.

If your dog is performing a behaviour you don’t like, teach a behaviour that they can do in that moment that’s incompatible with the unwanted behaviour.

Big congratulations to the "A Team" on completing level 2 obedience training with flying colors. Has been an absolute pleasure to work with this lovely group of people and pups. They have really put in the hard yards and the end result has been nothing short of spectacular.
