Rosie's had an absolutely fantastic Birthday and thank you to everyone for Birthday wishes. Lick lick lick to you all.
This morning started off with rump steak for brekkie. New teddy with 2 squeekies in his bottom.
Then a couple of Birthday Peanut Butter & Bacon bickies before the first woofie at 9.00 a.m.
After all the woofies were gone her Bestie Gypsy surprised her turning up in her Party Dress and pressie for her. They played until dinner time which consisted of kibble & chicken. Then more play before time to go home to bed.
Here's some photos & video.
Thank you again.
Here's a video of Rosie's reaction when Hugo came into the Grooming Room.
Yesterday I had a lady come in asking I'd I did cats. I said sorry. She told me she's very calm, (yeah right)! Still no. Then I said if she held her I'd clip her claws.
Her response?
"Oh no, I want her groomed and bathed".
Yeah right, like that's gonna happen and not get bitten and scratched.
I survived the 9hr groom yesterday. Finished at 7p.m. It only took an hour to clean up then cook a baked dinner (Baked Beans on toast) LOL. Rosie on the other hand was very distressed as she wasn't allowed in the room. Couldn't take the chance. So let's see our beautiful babies.
Please excuse the long review. I'm still in utter shock of Sabre.
74kg Bermese Mountain Dog Sabre. Yes, 74kg! His harness had 'Monster' on it due to his size but you couldn't get a more placid dog if you tried. He came in for a Bath and blow dry.
His brother and sister Koda and Lana (Samoyeds) accompanied him. They were in for a De-Shed.
Now, the biggest problem I've been having is getting large dogs to walk up the steps to the bath. I've got a ramp being built at the Mens Shed but unfortunately it wasn't ready. I decided Sabre was definitely first as I'd need mum's (Tiny framed woman) help to entice him in. He took one look at the bath and stood firm. I got chicken but nope. The delivery man arrived so I grabbed him and 3 of us finally (just) got his front paws in. Pushing and lifting he finally succumbed.
I took so many photos. I'm a big woman and one of his paws is bigger than my chunky hand.
From there he just stood. The next problem was how best to shampoo him and where to start. I had to divide his body into 4 areas and focus on each one. It took forever to completely soak the area. All in all it took 1hr to shampoo him. I had to prewash then shampoo twice as his coat was so thick and held the dirt in. He was also dried there. 3hrs to do Sabre.
Next I did Nara. Her harness has 'Naughty' on it due to her constant barking but she was an Angel 👏 I've done Samoyeds before but the amount of de-raking I had to do was incredible. Just over 2hrs non stop. Then bath and blow dry.
She took 3hrs to do.
Koda had to be co-ersed to get into the bath but no real dramas. Another 3hr job but wasn't as co-operative as his sister.
So please enjoy the photos and videos.
