This is a great time of year for parrot owners, there is an abundance of bottlebrush flowers around for your bird to eat and to play with, they will love the tasty treat!

When a parrot has a bath the dirt on their skin and feathers softens and encourages preening aka cleaning!✨
This can help prevent feather plucking as it stops the skin from becoming dry and itchy. 🪶
Try misting your bird to introduce water to them, ready for a soak on the warmer days! 🌞💦

Stoked that the Thiccles the fat purple ringneck flock are enjoying their eucalyptus castle! 🏰🌿

Eucalyptus trees are easy to identify and are abundant in Tasmania, as long as the branches haven’t been sprayed with pesticides they can make a great addition to your birds area! 🪴 (& smell great!) 🐨

Birds provided with stimulating enrichment along with fresh native branches are less likely to feather pluck, excessively squark or develop depression. 🪶🦜

Something a bit smaller this time... 👌🏼
♥️🐦 This tiny play area is for some love birds!

Although most of the perches are small it is good to have some various larger sized spots for them to stretch their feet out! 🦶🏼

If all perches were the same diameter the bird would always place pressure on the same area of their foot, similar to us wearing the wrong size/uncomfortable shoes... Not good! 👞

This all-in-one retreat has the lot! 🐦

Bowls, ladders, a swing, browse ring and a pinecone added for treats to be stuck in or just to tear apart for fun. 🌲🦜

Pinecones are safe for birds if you bake them in the oven first to make sure there are no nasties hiding in them! 🦠
I bake them at 90 degrees for 25mins! 🔥

This eucalyptus retreat includes a wattle slab for sitting snacks on 🍏
