I haven’t been on my page much and I apologise.

My own 17 year old cat has been diagnosed with chronic asthma so is needing all of my attention until at least the end of the year.

It was a shock, but it’s manageable as long as she has her ventolin twice a day and I bought an oxygen condenser so if she has an attack I can put her on oxygen.

On the xray, the white frosting in her chest are the asthma - her lungs are filled with bad inflammation in her bronchi.

For the remainder of 2024 I will only be taking regular client bookings, or bookings from my workplace (being a vet nurse if I offer a booking to you).

I need to take a break spread out a bit as I’ve worked literally non stop since 2020 when I began this wonderful journey.
I dont spend much time at home myself and I need to do some renovations.

I am so appreciative of the people I’ve met so far, making friends and making sure your fur babies are looked after 🩷

Christmas is booked out!

However, due to one of my regular fur clients passing away this year I have vacancies for Easter onwards.

I have a long term booking in July, but have a bit of space here and there.

Please don’t forget some foods over Xmas are not great for your animals.

If you need some basic advice you can message me and I’ll try to help where possible.

I would just like to put this out there after an unsuccessful pet sit.

Yep, I’m a big girl and I’m happy to share this recent story.

I was booked to house sit 2 dogs and some chickens. A new client. I had met the client and pets prior to staying. It was a referral from a client I have sat for multiple times.

Two days into the sit, the dogs got hold of a brown snake.

Being a vet nurse, and not wanting to take chances I got them to the vet asap.

As their humans were on holiday and phone service was not the best, I paid for the treatment. $2,000 worth.

Yes the owners paid when they got home (they had insurance) but I did what was best with a time sensitive issue. We visited two vets for the day to ensure they were ok. I spent all day at the vets.

A few things happened while they were away.
- the fridge died. I didn’t notice for a few days and the food went off. I don’t open/use the fridge every day.
- the garage power spiked and I couldn’t find the power meter in the dark. So I couldn’t get to the dogs food that was in the second fridge. I bought dog food to cover this until I found it.
- due to the fridge dying I missed giving the chooks their greens.

But everything else was accomplished.

However, this is the strange part.

The client assumed that I didn’t stay at night, because - I didn’t use the towel they put out for me.

Now for your attention and piece of mind - I have a gps on my phone.
I sent said information to the client. This shows where I am, where I go with addresses and exact times.
However she still believes I didn’t stay each night. Although the gps shows I stayed at her property for at least 14 hours overnight.

Also, I take photos and videos of your animals every day. At different times to ensure you know they are being looked after.

Some of my other clients have cameras - and have never accused me of lying.

I found this not only offensive, but quite strange.
And not once did the client apologise for assuming incorrectly and still believes to this day I did not stay at her property.

I have since cancelled pre booked dates for next year with this client as I feel uncomfortable.

I would never do this to a client and assuming I didn’t stay JUST BECAUSE I DIDNT USE A TOWEL?
Absolutely ridiculous.

Anyway - I always stay at your property. I have proof. Because of situations like this I cover myself for people who don’t understand or who like to cause issues.

I don’t need the stress and neither do you.

What happens when the humans are out of town and “Aunty Amanda” comes to stay?

You play with a huge brown snake 😩😩

In QLD we are unfortunate to run into these guys a bit. Especially through the warmer months.

Luckily for these two kiddos I am a vet nurse and went and got the tests done.

We visited Dr Dan at Samford Village Vets Animal Hospital for a preliminary blood test.

Then we visited BVSC at Albany creek for a venom test for one dog which showed increased markers.

Both dogs were cleared after 8 hours at the vet.

I kept their humans up to date, and all ended well.

It always hits me hard when I lose a client.

I’ve lost two this year so far and it breaks my heart.

Much loved family members, who I have the privilege of caring for while their human family goes on holidays or work.

Much loved Teddy gained his Angel wings this last weekend.
Teddy was an absolute delight to look after.
He had arthritis and a bit of dementia but overall he was always happy to see me, I have great memories of my time with him.

Goody smiles, the Teddy “glitter” (retriever fur), lots of slobber and cuddles.

RIP Big man your family misses you so much and so do I. 🌈🌈🌈

What do you get?

👉🏻 Your pet/s being able to stay in their own home comfortable and safe.

👉🏻 Someone home at different hours of the day so your home is “lived in” creating less opportunities for being burgled.

👉🏻 Mail is collected and parcels being brought inside.

👉🏻 My car will be in your driveway showing people your home is occupied.

👉🏻 If your pet/s need regular medications this is able to be accomplished with efficiency.

👉🏻 If your pet/s become ill, I am a vet nurse so I can make a judgement call if they need veterinary care. Or just some basic treatment.

👉🏻 Depending on my schedule, I can accomodate early or late arrivals back at home to ensure your pet/s are not left alone too long. If your flight is changed or you may be late, I can usually accomodate this.

I have a lot of regular clients due to my service offered.
It is a very niche market.

For this reason, I do have a lot of pre booked appointments a year in advance.
Because the animals know me clients book ahead some a year in advance.
(I’m already booked for the whole of December 2023.)

💁‍♀️ However, I can book spots and ”hold” them for a 2 night fee (non-refundable).

My regular fee is $60 per night (minimum).
Depending on your location and time booked.

For long term bookings I charge less, as it’s a long term booking guaranteed work.

So if you are potentially looking at a booking, save it now to avoid disappointment for $120.
(Non refundable if you cancel. Transferable if you re-book an alternate date within a reasonable time frame).

A family lost a large part of their life today.

This beautiful girl - let me tell you a few things…

🦋 Always greeted me with a huge happy smile
🦋 Lots of sloppy kisses
🦋 Always easy to medicate - ate her tablets like they were treats
🦋 Would p*e and poo on request
🦋 Loved rubbing her back in the hedges
🦋 Loved rolling on the floor with me and having cuddles
🦋 Loved her dinner
🦋 Would drag her bed around the house to suit herself depending on where the sun was
🦋 Was just a delight to be around

When I look after your babies I do so as if they are my own.

I mourn them as my own.

I’m in tears tonight learning that she had a large amount of cancers inside.
But she never let on! No one knew.

She passed today with her family at her side with lots of kisses and cuddles.

I will miss you Cocoa 💜💜💜

However, I can offer most services dependant on location and times.

My service is very niche and unique.

I am a vet nurse with 8 years experience in several clinical settings.

If you have aging pets, pets with anxiety, young pets or multiple pets I can cater for that.

I only offer pet sitting at the pets home - this is my point of difference as you not only get a pet sitter - you get someone to stay in your home protecting it while you are away.

(I am police checked, blue card, commissioner of declarations {like a JP}, insured as a vet nurse and $20m public liability - so I come with all the legal stuff 😊)

No junk mail collecting at the kerb, plants watered, house keeping done, bins emptied, AND your pets are comfortable and safe in their own home.

I can look after dogs, cats, Guinea pigs, chickens, horses, cows, sheep, goats, birds - but I draw the line at reptiles lol

I found out today that I lost one of my babies.

Yes - I consider your babies mine. I build a lot of relationships with the families I sit for.

I saw that Thierry wasn’t really himself on my last sit a few weeks ago, but I wasn’t expecting to hear today that he had passed away.

His family will miss him greatly and so will I.

I will miss him sleeping on the floor next to my bed, nudging me to go out for toilet breaks.

When I started this “hobby” I had no idea I would gain so many loyal clients.

When I say “clients” I mean the animals.
(And their humans)

I am so lucky to do what I do.

So much so I may be considering turning my hobby into a business!

Anyone I will potentially bring on board will also be a vet nurse, and will have similar values to me.

I never thought I’d be booked out completely 6 months in advance!!! (Until February 2023)
