Ryland Thoroughbreds would like to wish each and everyone of our clients & owners a very merry Xmas & a happy new year. Been a tough year however we got some nice winners and some beautiful exciting youngsters coming through. We were lucky enough to pick some very handy tried horses through the Inglis Digital online sales that have gone up to QLD & have proven themselves. Especially some winners with the Bailey Racing Team and the latest addition with Jordan Grob Racing.

Thank you for your support & let’s hope 2025 is a successful year going forward. A few exciting changes coming up but up for the challenge.

After the events/dramas over the last few months and especially the current month with Luke undergoing surgery to remove his left leg, then losing a close n big part of the Ryland Thoroughbreds story this week we are so pleased to get a win today with recent purchase from Inglis Digital, SUSPECT the son of I AM INVINCIBLE winning first up for young trainer Jordan Grob ridden by Anthony Allen.

So in a day of 1sts, Jordan got his 1st winner as a Trainer, Akrem, Ashref, Osman, JD, Issayas and also Deng (DiDi) not only their first horse as an Owner, their First winner and a picture on the wall. Congratulations also to the rest of our connections a a brilliant win.

This is a valuable addition to our team at a very reasonable price, especially considering his initial cost of $1.9m. SUSPECT will be joining the Jordan Grob stable on the Gold Coast.

Before I head into hospital for a procedure I would just like to say thank you to everyone who has supported me in particular over the past few years n shown nothing but love & care. Wishing all Connections good luck on Saturday at Randwick in the $1.5M GRP 1 TAB EPSOM HCP with the ever so mr consistent #3 DETONATOR JACK taking his well earned place @ 4.45pm over 1600m. Also to all of our connections in both horses on Sunday at Townsville with #6 OVERLORD & #7 PRINCEPESSA taking their places in Race 6 - Cowboys Leagues Club Class 6 Plate @ 4.20pm over 1200m both second up with OVERLORD coming off a last start win over the Cairns Amateur’s and PRINCIPESSA having a good hit out over a far too short distance first up. Fingers crossed for a bloody good weekend! See ya on the other side ❤️🙏🏇🏿🏆

Catch up from the weekend.

Had 2 runners at Cairns on Saturday over the Amateur’s Carnival. Firstly, to the Bailey Racing team you do a super job in presenting our horses in amazing condition & also with communication. Secondly, all our owners for continuing to support us & enjoy racing horses with us.

Saturday
Race 5: PRINCIPESSA (NZ)

We had Principessa go around in the Class 6 950m sprint. Sound effort, with a good blow out first up by our girl who’s first up run honestly didn’t let her down when she’s a mid-distance/stayer. Around safely, onwards we go on track to her more appropriate distance range.

Race 8: OVERLORD (NZ)

We had Overlord go around in the Class 3 plate over 1250m, from the outside barrier he done a super job sitting off the speed, stalking them rounding the home turn 8 lengths off the leader before Lacy let him go coming through the field carrying 60kgs to what looked an easy first up winning performance, bringing home the chocolates for all owners in our colours by 0.68lengths.
Andy, Bodine, Alwyn and everyone else thank you, to all owners thank you, Lacey Morrison thanks for taking the ride on both horses.
Big thanks to Matthew Richmond, who ever since grabbing a share of Cosmic Legend with us has stuck true with shares in every horse since with a few ups n downs but a lot of enjoyment, with now 2 winners with us. Corey you’re still around also. Big thanks to another special part of my family with Deng purchasing his first ever share in a horse with Principessa. Welcome & enjoy the ride to everyone, a lot of fun to be had along the way 😊.
Onwards to their next races guys with hopefully a lot more in stall for both of these 2!
