Breathing laboured? Rapid panting? Hot? If the bird is panting rapidly and shallowly and has its wings held out from its body and its feathers flat onto its body it is probably too hot, and/or physically exhausted after strenuous exercise, struggle or convulsions. Cockatiels will nest in a suitable hollow log, but are usually encouraged to nest in breeding boxes with scooped out hollows in the floor of the box.
