Hello to all our bird parents and feathery friends!

Today we will be addressing the use of branches/trees in your birds set up. Wether they be used to make homemade toys, as foraging materials, or as perches, is very important to ensure you are using a bird safe wood. The slightest traces of pesticides can potentially be harmful to your birds.

Before adding any branches to your birds cage, we recommend scrubing them with a non-toxic bird safe disinfectant, then rinsing to remove any bacteria and grime. We also recommend to bake your branches at 250°c to kill any bugs, eggs, fungi etc that could be living in or on the wood.

Some bird safe trees include:

- Eucalyptus
- Java wood
- Apple
- Birch
- Hibiscus

Meet Miso the pied cockatiel ✨️🌱

Miso and his brother were rescues from last year and have since found there forever homes. Miso was adopted by a family member of one of our handraisers, and is and very happy in his home. ❤️

This sweet boy was handaised by Darius, one of our main handrearers. We typically handraise all our birds in clutches, but this bubba had all the attention to himself! ✨️

This sweet boy was from a past season and has found his forever home.

Two quiet rescue GC Conures, both very shy and scared. (Previously handraised)

When it comes to rescue birds that have a rough or unknown background, an experienced, giving, patient and commited person is needed to gain back they're trust and allow them time to open up again. This can take years to accomplish, and it takes a giving person who knows what they're future will look like to make this commitment, as birds are a BIG commitment, especially rescues. Birds need and deserve a stable environment to live and enjoy life in ❤️

Said goodbye to three of my beautiful babies today
Forgot to take a while family photo of the six of us before the cinnamon pied left to his new home, but I got some of the five of us before another two were picked up
The remaining two will be heading to they're new homes at the end of the month, which luckily for me means I get more time with them

Such an intelligent bird who is currently looking for his new home! Denis is just beginning to talk and has the biggest character! Being an Amazon he is a larger bird and he is around 4 months old

We are here to offer you a number of services along the Northern Rivers.

We offer rehoming for your birds, handraised or aviary bred.
In most cases birds would be kept for around 2 months to do some socialisation training, health checks, mite and worming treatments before they are then rehomed to there forever home. Our goal is to prepare the birds for the best future with there new owner by assuring that the bird is equipped with the skills to develop and maintain a healthy, trusting relationship between their future companion and the people they will meet along the way.

Aside from our rescue birds, we also handraise birds out of the nest to develop the best one on one relationship with our birds.
