Whenever I’m in the pen I like to pick up my birds and inspect them for split chest and split wings.

Over time I’ve realised It’s a good habit to get into.

Especially when it comes to inspecting the wings of any new birds you’re buying (especially if you intend to breed them) just to make sure you don’t get home and find any nasty suprises.

This is Russell ☺️ he’s going to play a part in my splash lace red project.

I’ve been working at curing this old fellas scaley leg mite issue. He came to me with it and has been in quarantine while I get that sorted and I’ll need to trim those sharp spurs before I can introduce him to some ladies.

His legs are looking miles better! I should’ve taken some before photos 🤦🏽‍♀️

All I’ve been doing is scrubbing them with a toothbrush and olive oil every night for the last week and it’s working a treat 🥰
