First part of my ‘tutorial’ on prepping the coat for clipping 😁 no excuses this year people 😂😂
Next step to turning Wishy from a hairy, yellow yak, into a slightly less hairy, more show pony like yak 😂😂
What I get up to in my spare time 🤪
The leg blending technique I use in this vid is what I use when clipping ‘native’ breeds that have feathering. Shetland’s, Fell, Gypsy Cobs, Welsh and many other breeds are shown with feathers but just chopping them off at the knees or fetlocks is not a great look. I’m still learning, but getting better each clip, at blending the clipped coat into the natural feathering
If you’re a short arse and you know it clap your hands 👏 👏 👏
Lovely afternoon spent indoors, out of the wind, at Far Horizons Lodge - Spelling & Pre-Training. Big thank you to Emily for an entertaining afternoon with the ponies and of course snuggle cuddles with my Rufie kitty 🥰
I get asked quite often by clients, how to use the Hairy Pony Essential Oil Coat Conditoner.
Well, here’s one way. Let’s call it the ‘everyday way’ 😁
Post workout, and whilst she’s still warm, I give our princess Poppy a good spray over with diluted oil, brushing it through her clipped coat with my favourite Hairy Pony flick brush 🥰

How I know my clipping season is about to spring into overdrive very soon 😂🤪😂🤪
That pre-clip wash, what do I mean by clean?
With the season kicking off I am please to say that my best girl, Scarlet, is off of the injured list and loving being back at work with me 🥰 She may not come to all jobs but her she never misses an opportunity to come on the feed runs 😁
If she comes to your place, give her a cuddle and she’ll love you for life, #staffylife
It may be a little bit later this year due to the odd weather we’ve been having, but if you’ve noticed your beastie dropping hair, never fear it’s just a spring time moult.
My own usually do this in October but baby horse has decided now is good 🤷🏼♀️ It tends to last about 1-2 weeks and is just a small amount of the spring coat shedding out for a thinner summer coat
The Hairy Pony ‘Flick Brush’ at work 👌 just flicking away that old clipped coat 🥰
Getting a grubby tail white again 😬
With the help of Hairy Pony, AP Horse Clipping is a very proud sponsor of SHC Hoty and SA Buckskin Assoc. Championship Show 🥰 I hope all the winners love the Hairy Pony products as much as I do 🖤💛
A bit of therapy all round 😂 not drugged, just loves being clipped 🙈
How I like to whiten tails 😁
Does your pony love to scratch their butt, sometimes obsessively?
Good ol’ Bertha. She doesn’t get much to do these days with my smaller units being more than adequate but sometimes your told to bring in the big guns 💪🏻 so it was time for a clean up and an oil and she’s ready to rock 👌
