Another wonderful mini clinic held today. Perfect weather. Thank you to the lovely ladies who joined Ollie, Scarlet and I 💗 We learnt and practiced new techniques, tested products to help improve our show prep and even had a bit of hands on learning about showing in hand, much to Wishy’s disgust 😂 I really love putting these clinics together, keeping them small means I can tailor them and everyone gets hands on time, using different tools and products. I look forward to seeing perfect plaits, crisp quarter marks and sharp sharks teeth in the future 😁👌

As I’ve had interest in a February prep clinic, I’m just popping some dates up to gather interest.
Apologise for leaving it so late but I had to work out my own show schedule 😁😉
I have available:
Saturday 10th and/or Saturday 24th of February I’m happy to do both days if enough interest.
Mini clinics are hands on with my own ponies, max of 5 people to get the most out of your time and go for approx 2 hours. Cost is $50 for the hands on learning. Located at my property in Littlehampton
I have had wonderful feedback from my previous clinics and have been very proud to see the results from those who have attended 🤩💗

New year and a bit of a revamp 😁 Not a huge amount of change, just a bit of a shuffle here and there. Below is my updated price list for 2024. As I’ve mentioned previously, I will most definitely still be clipping and plaiting but I will have reduced days, so my availability will be limited. Also, working to a varied roster, I won’t be able to take bookings too far in advance. Sorry to all my super organised clients 🙈
Things will be a bit trial and error until I get into a groove and update my juggling skills but I do promise to fit in as many as I can, whilst keeping my sanity 😁
Bookings can be made via my personal fb page or phone, unfortunately trying to keep track of all the different avenues of communication gets a bit tricky.
A sacrifice I have to make, is the taking on of new clients 😞 After many years of clipping, I have a very loyal client base and as such I feel I need to be loyal to those that have stuck by my side throughout the years.
Travel will also take a down turn. As I aim to fit more into the time I have available, the longer distances will no longer be viable. I’m based near Mt Barker, so this effects my northern clients unfortunately 😞
Though 2024 will bring a change, it will not be a change to the quality of work I provide. I will always and forever take the utmost pride in presentation.

Heading into the new year and beyond, I just thought I should clarify a few things for those playing along at home 😁
Firstly, no, I havnt had a nervous breakdown 🤣🤣🤣 Life just got in the way and I made the decision to join the everyday workforce.
I will most definitely still be clipping and plaiting but I will have limited days to do so. Apologies but I won’t be able to take bookings too far in advance unfortunately, due to rostering.
I am very sorry to say that I will not be doing the travelling that I once was, any clipping and plaiting will be much closer to home so that I can fit more in with less travel.
My sincere apologies to my clients who are based further out, you are more than welcome to bring your ponies either to me or somewhere close by.
To sum things up, I will be going part time but I have not disappeared and I will still be doing what I love 💕 😉

So a few people have asked how I went plaiting Wishy’s mane at the Welsh Show I was taking her to, after her mane destroying attempt. Did I have enough? Truth is, I would’ve like an extra centimetre or two just to have a bit more ‘meat’ in the rosettes. I plaited a smidge further down than the regrowth, which meant the plait loosened slightly when rolling, but even plaiting the night before and a whole day of showing, with the help of my Hairy Pony wax and mousse, they held together perfectly 😁

So when the weather started warming up, I loved giving my ponies their nudie days in the sun. They loved it. Lots of mutual grooming and scratching for all, however, Wishy took it a bit further and found that she had grown enough to reach a knot on her favourite scratching branch. Much euphoric scratching occurred. To my horror, I found great chunks of her mane left on this knot, not rubbed out as such but broken off 🙈🙈
With the SA All Welsh Show at the start of November where she needs to be plaited, my search for a mane growth wonder cream commenced 💪🏻
I wanted something quick, easy and available. Many mentioned good ol’ Bryl cream, others aloe vera- I figured, why not try them together 🤷🏼‍♀️
So I made a mixture of them both and have been applying it daily since Oct 7 (first pic). I have kept her hood on so she couldn’t catch her mane anymore. Washing and conditioning weekly. I have also been using No Rub from Leovet to help reduce any itchiness cause by broken skin from any excessive rubbing. The second pic was taken Oct 22. We have a week and a half till our show but I’m pretty happy with the progress 🤞🤞

Due to a change in personal circumstance, I will be closing down the business side of this page. I will no longer be clipping nor plaiting at the capacity I have been, and as such, I will use this page as more of a tutorial to help others.
Current bookings will be honoured but new bookings will be unavailable through this page.

I will still be clipping, just working things in and around a roster, limiting me to 2-3 days a week.

With my show calendar filling up fast, I have limited weekends available but with so much interest, I can not leave you all wanting 😁

My mini clinics run for about 2 hours. Using my own show conditioned ponies, my goal is to help you in any aspect of presentation that you require. Be it braiding of manes & tails, make up, false tails, quarter marks, or just a general ‘what do I do?!’

What I get up to in my spare time 🤪 The leg blending technique I use in this vid is what I use when clipping ‘native’ breeds that have feathering. Shetland’s, Fell, Gypsy Cobs, Welsh and many other breeds are shown with feathers but just chopping them off at the knees or fetlocks is not a great look. I’m still learning, but getting better each clip, at blending the clipped coat into the natural feathering

I get asked quite often by clients, how to use the Hairy Pony Essential Oil Coat Conditoner. Well, here’s one way. Let’s call it the ‘everyday way’ 😁 Post workout, and whilst she’s still warm, I give our princess Poppy a good spray over with diluted oil, brushing it through her clipped coat with my favourite Hairy Pony flick brush 🥰 #hairy_pony

With the season kicking off I am please to say that my best girl, Scarlet, is off of the injured list and loving being back at work with me 🥰 She may not come to all jobs but her she never misses an opportunity to come on the feed runs 😁 If she comes to your place, give her a cuddle and she’ll love you for life, #staffylife

It may be a little bit later this year due to the odd weather we’ve been having, but if you’ve noticed your beastie dropping hair, never fear it’s just a spring time moult. My own usually do this in October but baby horse has decided now is good 🤷🏼‍♀️ It tends to last about 1-2 weeks and is just a small amount of the spring coat shedding out for a thinner summer coat

Good ol’ Bertha. She doesn’t get much to do these days with my smaller units being more than adequate but sometimes your told to bring in the big guns 💪🏻 so it was time for a clean up and an oil and she’s ready to rock 👌
