Smelly Rats Rattery

The Draculu babies have changed so much!
Since opening their eyes these bubs have turned into crazy little gremlins. Theyre developing adorable little personalities.
Until i get some outside opinions, ive removed colours from the labels as ruby eyes cant be considered ‘mink’.
A little update for adopters:
All the girls from this litter have been reserved! They all have wonderful homes lined up or are staying with me.
Of the 5 boys, two will be reserved very soon and there are prospective adopters i have my eye on for the others.

The younger ‘Delso’ litter are coming up on a week old already, only just developing their fuzz. I dont know genders of them yet but i will be sure to post when they have IDs.
Due to the big amount of interest my ratties are getting already, i will be keen to start on another litter once my current lot have gone to their forever homes. Very excited to have the opportunity to continue my breeding project.

The Draculu litter is 2 weeks old!
A very eventful couple days in the Smelly Rats house. These little babies are starting to show their personalities already. They react to stimulus like tickling or pats from people as well as wrestling eachother and grooming. Despite not having their eyes open yet, theyve been enjoying running aimlessly. They are currently being housed in a larger cage now with mum Dracarys and Aunty Dagger. Dagger cant wait for them to start playing.

Each bub has an ID and gender now. Rather than naming all the bubs, each one will be known as ‘S’ for standard coat or ‘R’ for rex coat. This is just my preffered way of identification although some bubs already have nicknames oops.
6 girls and 5 boys with only 3 bubs being standard coats. Every single baby is different from eachother via coat pattern, colour or gender.
Im so in love with this little bunch and i feel so lucky to get to watch them grow.

Please do keep in mind that most rex rats do go through a moult around 8-10 weeks of age, in which dad kthulu completely changed colour! Minks are also known to darken, lighten and change patterns as they age as well so who knows how this lot will look over time. For now ive done the best i can at identifying coats but this may change as they get older 🙂

Surprise!!
Very happy to announce another litter of happy healthy bubs. 5 beautiful little beans born yesterday 8th of January, which also happened to be my birthday. Best present ever!
These bubs have a legacy larger than they are. Mum is Whims Decaf from Whimsical Whiskers Rattery a beautiful Rex Variegated Mink, Dad is RPR Kelso from Right Paw Rattery a stunning Velour Fawn Berkshire.
Having the opportunity to jump start my line with such strong breeders has been amazing and im very thankful to be entrusted with such gorgeous rats.

Keen to announce the first ever Smelly Rats litter! This is the Draculu litter, 11 little beans all healthy and chunky.
Mum is Dracarys, little mink self standard girl. She did amazingly during birth and has been a loving and doting mum to all of her little babies.
Dad is Kthulu, big dark choc hooded, rex mutt (velour? Silk?) handsome man. He has no idea he currently has 11 little mini me’s in this world but im excited for him to one day meet some.
I am over the moon with this little bunch already and so excited to watch these guys grow.
Over the next week their markings and colours should start to appear and I’ll for sure be taking heaps of pics to update everyone!
