Baby V is back in work officially!! What an absolute dreamboat I forgot how much I love this fella 😍😍 we had some spice and flash moves today but he really does just pull it together and get it wow when the time calls.

Here’s 50 seconds of me just saying “good boy” over and over again. Vino is doing great, we should be in the paddock tomorrow out of this round yard!
This is his third ride (including his bareback session) and he is responding perfectly. Lots of little things to work on but super happy with how he is shaping so far. As with most off trackers there’s a definite favourite side (as you can see!) but nonetheless this is exactly where we want him to be. Getting them to truly learn to soften without rings, drawreins etc is a bigger process but so much more worthwhile.
Vino has officially had his first and second rides post retirement from racing!
He’s a smart boy and I’m over the moon with the progress he’s made in just two rides. Already showing signs of softening to the bridle and responding to leg pressures.
Riding bareback during the restarting is such a new thing for me but I’m absolutely loving the response I’m getting from the horses. So much easier to work on teaching them standing while mounting plus really allows you to feel everything in their body.
While the head is a little low when the collection is asked for that’s completely okay and it will come back up with strength. For now we are just so so excited to see some positive steps. Stay tuned for more updates!
Look honestly, I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it again but this is the COOLEST horse I’ve ever had. Holy smokes!!
Today on our trail in the space of 200m we where faced with
• a bike rider
• trucks and work cars
• a GRADER That was fixing the road
• a TRAIN to top it all off!
He absolutely loves the water, no hesitation into any of the creeks or puddles. Didn’t care about the other horses or the cows. The car that flew past us on the tarmac at 80km/h wasn’t an issue either (for him at least, I was quite bothered!).
This guy did not bat one single eye lid, I have had many many quiet horses here that would have happily left me on my own to sort those out. He is truly one in a million I still cannot believe how quiet he is.

I still stand by my post of this horse will not suit high level jumping without further exploration of why he sometimes trips. But there is scope and talent to burn for someone who wants a nice low level jumper or ARC mount.
I even left in the cringey bit at the end so you can see how big this actually is for how easy he manages it!

Will forever be so so proud of this boy. If you had of said to me when I first got him that one day he would become one of my quitest horses, I would have laughed in your face.
He’s coming back in from a spell working in a huge open paddock with another horse in it and he could not care at all.
4 months off has done him the world of good 🥰

Tacked up for Joeys first ride, got to the arena and realised the saddle wasn’t sitting right so we took it off and played bareback instead.
Last raced three weeks ago and hasn’t been ridden since!
Not something I would usually do for safety reasons however this boy gave me all the right signs it would be okay.

Bree was a gem this afternoon, it was my first 14 hour work day in two weeks and I was exhausted so this was all I could get the energy to do. Just planned on working on her standing while mounting and ground tying but I got a little carried away!
She’s taken a little longer than others to settle in and start trusting us but these past few days she’s really come around. It’s been so long since I had a fresh OTT I forgot how much I love these bits!

He is such a talented careful jumper. I left in some little mistakes I made in relation to striding and you can see him try his hardest to correct it and make it over clear.
We are keeping it a bit low for him at the moment while the fitness builds but don’t let that fool you!
