URGENT BEDDING NEEDED πŸ™

Today our beloved washing machine spun its last spin and sadly our Sydney Adoption Centre has run out of warm bedding 😞

If you have any bedding or blankets that you no longer need or are willing to purchase for us, we will ensure your kind donations are put to good use πŸ₯°

Items can be dropped off at our Sydney Adoption Centre, 201 Rookwood Road, Yagoona, 2199 or at any other of our shelters across NSW πŸ™Œ

Thank you! From everyone at RSPCA NSW and the furry friends you will help keep warm this winter ❀️

April 4th is World Stray Animals Day. Here at the practice, we like to call these animals 'lost' as we know most have a home to go to. However, so many animals are not as fortunate. In Australia alone there is an estimated 328,000 stray animals! So what can you do?... Advocate on the behalf of animals to be desexed and donate to animal charities, bedding, food and toys.

Today is World Sleep Day 😴It's purpose is to create awareness around the importance of sleep and creating good sleep hygiene. There has always been debate around whether having pets sleep with us is a good thing or not. While it can enhance a sense of relaxation or feelings of security, it could also trigger allergies or prevent us from getting a good night's sleep. What are your thoughts?

Did you know that every time we receive a positive review, we provide 1 day of vocational training for women in Guatemala? Keep the good vibes coming 🐾

Many local residents have moved into Guatemala City to escape natural disasters and poverty in rural areas. However, rebuilding a life in a new city with high poverty and unemployment rates is a struggle as opportunities are scarce. In the Junkabal centre, we offer long-term vocational training in cookery, culinary arts, hairdressing and professional makeup. Through certified courses lasting 20 months, women at Junkabal gain an education the enables them to enter better and safer employment, empowering themselves and their families. (B1G1)🐾

Today marks World Spay Day 2024, a day to consider the benefits of desexing our pets.
The very latest findings from the State of Pet Homelessness Project showed that Australia has the lowest number of pet homelessness out of the countries that participated. The Project stated that we have around 328,300 homeless pets. It also showed that 75% of dogs are desexed and 87% of cats are, compared to the global average of 49% for dogs and 63% for cats. Let's work together to get that percentage higher 🐾🐱🐢

Celebrate well! Maybe some extra cuddles, a walk on the beach, a special treat or new toy. Why not book them in for that dental or check they are up to date with vaccinations.

One of the downfalls of working remotely can be not having co-workers around you to interact with, that is, unless you have a pet in your home office. This furry co-worker offers more than you might think. Pets in your office can help reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness, they are great listeners and just stroking your furry co-worker can help increase those feel-good hormones. No more sitting at a desk eating lunch with a doggy lunchtime walk!
We'd love to see photos of your furry helper or maybe you work in a pet friendly office!
Take a look at the video 'The Woofice', a fun take-out of the benefits of pets in the workplace.

Well it's that time of the year again and silly season is upon us! Just a reminder to not forget your pet's vaccinations. If they are due or it has been some time, they will need them for boarding or if you are travelling or have folks visiting with pets, up to date vaccinations are the best preventative :)
