We've got a heartwarming (and heartbreaking) story to share with you all...

Last week, we took in 4 precious neonatal kittens, approximately 1 week old. These little bundles of joy were dropped off at a vet clinic after their neighbor threatened to harm them.

Sadly, we have no idea where their mom is, but we're determined to give them the best possible start in life.

Our dedicated carers have been working around the clock to care for these tiny furballs, bottle-feeding them every few hours.

We're thrilled to report that the babies are doing well, and we can't wait to watch them grow and thrive!

Meet Mango (white, M, 7yo) and Mana (tabby, F, 4yo). These 2 beautiful kitties are looking for a new loving home as soon as possible, preferably together as little Mana can be a bit shy. Both of these fur babies are desexed and microchipped, but have not been vaccinated this year yet. They have lived a very pampered life indoors and come with 2 electric cat litter boxes.

UPDATE ON THESE KITTENS

Unfortunately little Gray girl Betsy had possible Mega colon and has been suffering with chronic constipation and after having multiple enemas yesterday at the vet which didn't really help her much, she went downhill last night and passed away early hours of this morning.

Megacolon is a chronic condition that occurs most often in cats and is basically a mega-sized, stretched-out, weakened colon.

Megacolon in cats can cause devastating health consequences as the colon fills with old, hardened f***s, and the colon is not strong enough to pass the “cemented stool.”

It's a congenital condition so it's possible her brothers could also have it. They also struggle with bowel movements but not as bad as their sister. So we will be watching them all very closely.
So far Alfie, Charlie and Danny are doing well for 2 week old bubs.
We are all devastated losing Betsy especially her carer who has looked after them round the clock since they were 3 days old


These gorgeous little treasures were found abandoned and handed into Valley Vets who then contacted one of our very experienced neonatal kitten feeders to take them into care. They were estimated to be around 3 days old as they still had umbilical cord attached.

One unexpectedly passed away soon after coming into care. There is no way of knowing how long they had been without mum, who we suspect had been battling panleukopenia - a devastating viral infection that can affect unvaccinated cats and their kittens.

The remaining 4 are thriving and gaining weight with round the clock 3 hourly feeds. Their eyes are opening and they are enjoying cuddles and belly rubs but mostly feeding and sleeping as almost 2 week olds should.

Among our little warriors is Alfie, who we've noticed is presenting symptoms of cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). This neurological condition affects his balance and coordination, making him a bit wobbly on his feet - and earning him the nickname "our little sprinkler" due to his rather creative approach to being toileted. Despite his challenges, Alfie's determination and spirit are absolutely infectious. He might stumble and wobble, but he never gives up, and his enthusiasm for life is simply heartwarming.

While CH cats like Alfie need some extra care and patience, they can live full, happy lives. His condition isn't progressive or painful - it just means he sees the world from a slightly different angle! And truthfully, watching him navigate life with such joy and determination has taught us all something about resilience.

The absence of their mother, likely lost to panleukopenia after giving birth, makes these kittens' survival even more remarkable. It's a stark reminder of the importance of vaccination in preventing these devastating diseases in our feline friends. But thanks to round-the-clock care, lots of love, and their own fighting spirits, these little ones are beating the odds every day.

Alfie and his siblings are proving that with proper care and plenty of love, even the most challenging starts in life can lead to beautiful stories of survival and hope. While Alfie might need a few extra towels around his feeding area (and perhaps a higher-sided litter box!),when he gets bigger, his sweet personality and determination make every extra effort absolutely worth it.

CALLING OUR BAKING CAT LOVER FRIENDS!!!!!

Purrrfect Treasures Cat Haven are holding a bake sale at Petstock North Mackay Saturday 22nd March and would love some extra goodies to sell.
If you have time and would like to help us out with baking cakes, slices, tarts, cupcakes, biscuits etc please pm us. We will provide trays that can be collected prior or you can drop off and we can package up. (all ingredients need to be listed please)

If you can't bake you can also help out with donating some baking ingredients.
