MORNINGS LOOK LIKE THIS: At her annual check up Matilda was told she could no longer use the excuse of being “big boned” and that instead we needed to get out and about more ! So our mornings look like this - Matilda is getting exercise and Abby, who is still learning, is getting some exposure to noise and time on the lead.

Why we love school visits: yesterday we helped our local primary school students round out the year with a Puppy visit. This is great for the pups - it helps with socialisation and, of course, they love the attention - but it’s also great for the students. It teaches them about sitting quietly, remembering to be calm through the excitement and reminds them to be gentle. And of course, there is nothing better than seeing the sheer joy on their faces !

It has been a stressful couple of days - while we are impatiently waiting on Marigold we noticed Abby growing very lethargic. It was a gradual progression from her holding back from playing with the other dogs to not wanting to go for a walk to not wanting to move from the front door. We headed into the vet only to find out she was VERY anaemic and required not one but two blood transfusions. She came home overnight so we could monitor her every two hours and is well and truly on the mend. But the problem? She had a large infestation of hookworms. What makes this even move frustrating is we spend a small fortune worming our crew every four weeks with Nexgard Spectra - and Abby was wormed just 10 days ago ! To say we will not be using this brand again is an understatement!
A big thankyou to all the team at Delatite Veterinary Services who always go above and beyond.

The next bit of dog pregnancy is the hardest part ! It's a delicate mix of making sure we are on hand to help while balancing that with the need to let Marigold take care of things in the most natural way possible.
We will keep you updated - in the meantime, can you guess how many puppies there are?
