***UPDATE***
This gorgeousness has found her new furever humans and I couldn't be happier for her.

We have this absolutely stunning chocolate merle girl on the hunt for her furever humans.

She was lined up to go to a fellow breeder, however she unfortunately carries 1 copy of EOAD (Early onset adult deafness). This in itself is fine and she's not at risk of developing the condition, however the boy she was intended for also has 1 copy of it. This means that each pup has a 25% chance of inheriting 2 copies and therefore be at risk of developing this condition. THIS is why DNA profiling breeding dogs is so important. We have ensured we're not producing puppies at risk of developing a heritable and avoidable condition. Despite her original human being devastated, it is the right decision.

If you are a registered (MDBA) breeders, I will consider selling her on mains. Otherwise, she will be registered on the limited register.

Please PM for more info.

***EDIT. This gorgeous girl had a meet and greet this morning. It was love at first sight and she is now living in Brisbane during the week and a property at Tiaro weekends. I couldn't be happier for her.***

This cutie patootie was supposed to have a video meet and greet today. At the time I was to phone the people, they became "unavailable on messenger".

I truly don't mind if you decide that you don't want a puppy- for whatever reason. However, please be honest and tell me.

I have this gorgeous red 🩷 girl looking for her furever humans.

Here we are closing the door on what was 2024. I hear a collective sigh of relief! Lol

It has been an interesting year for us; as it has been for many people. I hope 2025 is better for everyone.

We are having a break and going to Thailand in May. Next year, we are planning on some improvements; new equipment; fine-tuning our curriculum and planning our first ANKC litter for awhile.

A couple of years ago, before my illness, I said that I would do regular educational posts. These would include
-genetic disorders found in BCs
-colours
-merle, sable and other patterns
-training

I aim to start these again next week.
If there is anything you'd like me to address, please comment below.

Pic of Satin- one of my favourite pics; she is so strong!

Look at these posers- not worried about the siblings they're sitting on! Lol

The "Country Eight" are eight weeks old tomorrow.

Despite the challenges we faced with this litter, and maybe because of these challenges, I am not ready for them to leave.

I know they're all (apart from 3 still 👀🏡) going to fantastic homes and they're going to be loved and give love. However, a piece of my heart and soul; my legacy goes with every puppy. I cry. Every. Time.

I am getting puppy packs ready today (and shedding a tear- hopefully I won't cry tomorrow). I love being able to support fantastic, clever friends by putting hand made goodies in my packs.

Big thanks to Bernadine Stoopman, Jan Radnell, Melinda Hobson and Linda Draper for helping make my packs awesome! ❤️

****THIS BOY FOUND HIS HUMANS****

This beautiful chocolate merle boy is on the hunt for a special family.

It has been determined that this s***ky chap has a hearing impairment...(another first for us! This litter has been full of firsts!) He can hear certain pitches and tones, but not all.

If you think you can provide the perfect, safe environment for this gorgeous boy, please message me.

As we're having a break, and going on a holiday 🤗🥳, I gave the whelping box a good clean and sanitise before being packed away!

I find using the bath tub the easiest way to do this! Then I can give the tub a good clean afterwards too!

The "Country Eight" are SIX weeks old today. That's right...SIX! I can't believe that they'll be embarking on the next chapter of their lives in two weeks...I am never ready for them to leave.

I still have 1 🩷 and 2 🩵 from this litter looking for furever laps and yards. PM, text or call me for more info.

We've had a lot of rain this week here at Evergreen, the home of ForCows Border Collies!

We have a very safe yard where the puppies can explore, and learn to be dogs. We've been giving them some 'free time' every day- even when it's raining! They can easily get out of the weather and into a dry area in our carport if they want. I have a sheet down for them to lay on in a nice dry corner.

They've been enjoying playing in the rain and mud and I truly enjoy seeing them out being little dogs! Playing in dirt, mud, rain etc is very good for them and it builds their immune systems!

They're now big enough that they need to be fed in two bowls! This morning I gave them sardines in springwater, raw beef liver and mince with royal canin starter kibble.

We still have 1 🩷 and 2 🩵 hoping to find their own humans soon.

I have been contacted by some people who have gotten a bit confused regarding socialisation prior to puppy being fully vaccinated. This is a time that they're immune systems are quite vulnerable and we do need to do whatever we can to protect them from harmful diseases. However, it is also very important to continue socialisation during this time. You can take your puppy safely out to places such as Bunnings, dog friendly cafes/pubs, drives in your car- anywhere that's NOT grass! Many harmful viruses and bacteria live in soil, in feaces left on grass, on grass, in dirty puddles. So, avoid these at all costs until your puppy is fully vaccinated. You can even do a lot of socialisation at home- have friends visit and let them bring their vaccinated dogs, go to 'safe' friends places who have chickens or cats or animals that you don't have, have people come over wearing hats, glasses, using a walking stick etc. There are many ways that you can continue socialising/ desensitising your puppy without taking it to risky places- like dog parks (which I don't agree with using at the best of times let alone with puppies).

Here are some ideas. Remember that desensitisation and socialisation needs to continue throughout their life too.

The "Country Eight" enjoyed a morning outside under the shade of a beautiful tree. However as it is very hot and humid, I brought them inside to the air conditioning.

They've had lunch- royal canin starter kibble and Turkey Lyka.

Now they're running around like lunatics!
