Occy ans Roxy came in for they big desheds today. As I haven’t been able to see them since the start of the year with lockdowns ect it was great to see them today and remove all there under coats.

*UPDATE*
These are the four reasons I am allowed to currently groom under. So if your dog falls into either of these categories, we now have the green light to help them out on a welfare basis. Thank god as we are going into hotter weather now and we can help out all the dogs who are matted and doubled coated.

What is welfare grooming?
Welfare grooming refers to grooming that is required by some domestic pets due to their coat or condition. Welfare grooming differs from grooming that is done for cosmetic purposes.
Welfare grooming is a necessity for some breeds of dog. Failure to groom these dogs can result in serious welfare problems such as severe and painful matting, skin issues, ear infections, body- temperature regulation and other health problems.
Welfare grooming must be performed regularly to prevent these problems occurring. Therefore, some pets are at risk if they do not see a professional groomer on a regular basis.
Welfare grooming as described in the guidelines below, can be assessed by an animal groomer and does not require a separate veterinary assessment or referral letter prior to grooming.
What pets require welfare grooming?
There are four categories of pet that require welfare grooming:
1. Specific dog breeds with double coats.
2. Dogs that require welfare grooming due to their current condition.
3. Cats with long coats who require regular grooming.
4. Cats that require welfare grooming due to their current condition.

Afternoon All,

Following Victoria's recent changes to the Pet Grooming Industry and the Welfare issues, Daddy Dan has said that mobile grooming is now allowed to re open (unfortunatly that does not include me at this stage). However, there are many groomers working behind the scenes to have this changed to all groomers and not just for welfare grooms (which is still a grey area) via "clip and collect" methods, the same as the first round of lockdowns. Hopefully I will have a clear answer for everyone shortly, however if you do have a dog in urgent need of a groom, for matting or skin issues ect please get in contact with me and we will sort out how best to address the situation :)

Morning everyone,

Please to announce I will be opening up again this week. However, I have a few changes:
- I am no longer in Botanic Ridge, we have moved 3KM away to Clyde but my name is still Botanic Ridge Grooming at this stage.
- Now that I have had my baby boy, appointments will only be available 2-3 days a week in the afternoons when my partner is home or every second Saturday morning at this stage.
- I am still happy to do nail trims around these times.

Hello Everyone,

Just an update for all my regular clients, after the safe arrival of our son, I will hopefully be back grooming again as of next week (6 weeks PP). I am still working out a schedule with feeding and when our best nap times are to be able to for dogs in at this stage. So please bare with me while we are still adjusting as I’ll have very limited times at the moment. I have also moved house now 3KM away and understand if I’m now too far away for some people.

Something a little bit different. This time last year we had just come out of lockdown 1.0 and my other first babies were in need of a clip. This year they are happily fat and fluffy not doing a whole lot.

A further reminder to all our clients as some have missed my previous posts.
I will be going on maternity leave by the end of April (18th at this stage) for a few weeks. We will be opening again towards the end of May / start of June with limited appointments again available only on set days and very limited for larger dogs as I cannot do them when I’m home alone at this stage.

I will start taking booking for when we reopen closer to the date to make sure everything is going on track, but in the meantime I will do my best to keep all current appointments, but some reshuffling my need to occur as I approach my due date and as issues arise.

I have very limited appointments available at the moment, especially for larger dogs and I will be going on maternity leave by the end of April (18th at this stage) for a few weeks. We will be opening again towards the end of May / start of June with limited appointments again available only on set days. Saturday appointments at the moment are prioritised for bigger dogs and are currently booked until the end of April with one spot left on the 17th at this stage. I will start taking booking for when we reopen closer to the date to make sure everything is going on track, but in the meantime I will still be around for nail trims and can work out priority / welfare grooms individually with owners.
