Rise Up Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation is an animal rescue organisation based in Melbourne, Australia.

Our main focus with the help of our dedicated foster carers, is to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need as well as provide sanctuary to special needs animals and in turn aiding the misconception that disabled animals cannot lead happy and enriching lives. Providing guarded strength and resources to every individual animal that enters our care, giving each the ability to RISE UP above any previo

Oh how can you resist this d***y love bug? 🥰

Humphrey is available for adoption and a family out there is missing out on all the amazing things this boy is!

He is a gorgeous 1 year old with the most beautiful temperament and his story started when he arrived to us from a rural NSW pound off the euthanasia list.

Humphrey is desexed, vaccinated, wormed and in excellent health. He is a pleasure to have around and is super friendly with everyone including kids and other dogs- he currently shares his foster home with another large dog. He is house trained and has excellent recall even in the dog park where he goes every day to let out his beans and play and run. He can sit and stay on command and learns very quickly. His on leash walking is coming along very well but he can at times get strong when seeing other dogs. He has been out and about twice daily and he loves car rides.

Humphrey would suit an active family who will take him on walks and runs daily and will make him part of the family. He would not suit someone who will leave him alone in the backyard for long periods of time as he is still young and will get bored and lonely.

Humphrey is extremely loyal and loving and nothing makes him happier than to get a pat and be told how lovely he is. He need to be an indoor dog so that he can be with you and not alone, including during the night.

Humphrey is not tested with cats and small animals.

🧡SEEKING FOSTER CARERS🧡

The following three puppies each need foster carers. They are 5mth old staffy puppies (two blue boys and the tan girl). *Mumma in the back of the first picture has a wonderful home to go too.

We would prefer them to be fostered individually so we are looking for three seperate foster carers. Their carers must be able to take them in for desexing in Lower Plenty and they will then be placed up for adoption🥰

CAN YOU HELP BORIS‼️HE NEEDS SOMEONE TO OPEN THEIR HOME AND HEART FOR HIM🥺💔

This boys eyes tell a thousand words. Although we arn’t too sure what those words may be, finding him at the pound on the kill list is enough to know that those words are unlikely to be very kind.

Boris has such a gentle demeanour and gentle attitude. He is calm and quiet when around the house. He walks well on lead, is unfazed by other dogs and his intelligence is shining through.

He is very hard to fault until he is left alone… That is when the troubles of Boris’ past come to light and his panic sets in. For this reason we are looking for someone who is home full time and/or potentially who works from home and can support him to overcome this fear which with time is very achievable we just need to be patient and understanding. It may time time but Boris really needs someone in his corner- he has been failed too many times.

Please if you can find it in your heart and home to foster or foster-adopt Boris we know it would literally mean the world to him. He so deserves it. Please message us with any enquiries or questions.

My name is Jackie and I’m a rough coat Jack Russel.
I turn 4 in December and would love to spend it in my forever home with you.

Things you should know about me is:

I’m slowly coming out of my shell, just be patient with me. I love cuddles and snuggling on the couch next to you or atleast very close to you!

I travel well in the car and have no accidents.

I am good with other dogs and have socialised with a 2 year old jack Russell and a 7 year old Kelpie but am still learning to share attention and have the tendency to grumble at them.

I love kids especially young ones, I love to snuggle next to them for movie time, cuddles and will sneak them kisses when the opportunity arrives.. and if no one is watching I do have the tendency to take food off them😆

I go to the toilet outside or use the p*e mat in the laundry when every one is asleep, I don’t know how to use the doggy door, I’m very smart and I know I can learn if you teach me.

I’m learning to walk on a leash with a harness and my foster mum is teaching me to walk beside her and not run/walk off. I’m catching on so quickly!

I like to have showers but just give me treat afterwards, so I know I’m a good girl or else I have a sad face.

A bit about my routine:

*This isn’t permanent, I can easily adjustable to yours.*

I go sleepy time between 10-11pm and get up around 7am which I then go outside to the toilet and get a cookie as a toilet reward!

I get a snack in the afternoon and dinner is served around 6pm, I get wet and dry mixed up which I enjoy.

Things I don’t like:

I get scared of sudden movements towards me or loud voices. There has been lots of changes recently in my life and Ive struggled but I’m learning to trust again. I’m gentle and calm and am not a normal energetic Jack Russel but you never know I might change as my confidence grows.

I need a forever family that is patient, loving, caring and will reassure me that you will come back and you can love me forever💗

I’m Desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and currently located in Deer Park vic.

Toby is still available for adoption (we have no idea how😍) and is available for meet and greets!

Toby is a 3 year old Jack Russel x what we guess to be Corgi or Beagle! Basically we introduce to you a long Jack Russel.

Like a cheeky pre-teen, Toby is goofy and excitable. He absolutely loves cuddles and snuggling on the couch with prime position being right on top of you!

Toby is great with other dogs and would love a friend of the same size and strength as he may be too much for an older or quiet dog.

Although he knows how to use the doggy door and will toilet outside, he does still have accidents indoors and this is something that some continued training will help with. There has been lots of changes and this can sometimes be expected. He Is so smart and just needs some consistency.

Toby would love someone who is around more often than not as he adores his humans.

Overall, the absolute sweetest boy who will bring the right family so much love and happiness.

Sweet Cindy is so full of love and she is still looking for her foster carer!

She is a pocket size jack russel terrier who is full of smiles and happy tail wags and although is obsessed with her human people does prefer to be the only pet in the home.

We are happy to accept foster or foster to adopt options.

FOSTER CARER NEEDED URGENTLY!

This is Cindy, who arrived yesterday from a rural nsw pound as per our posts last week.

She is such a sweet little girl but isn’t liking the dogs in her foster home. We are hoping to find her a foster carer to move to today who is dog free. Cindy is fine with cats though 😁

It’s likely she will be fine with other dogs in the future but may need some decompression following her stressful period at the pound.

She is currently located in Glenroy. Please message us if you can help foster her!

They are all small breeds and friendly with other dogs and need foster carers for a 3-4 week period while they wait for their forever homes🧡

Pickup is tomorrow in Lilydale and they need to have carers secured or they will have nowhere to go 😢

Aya is a gorgeous girl who her foster carer says is a delight to have around. Her breed is a bit of a mystery but she is a little 1.5yo girl, under 10kg and seems to have dachshund somewhere in the mix with her long sausage body.

Aya is fantastic to walk and is toilet trained. She loves her toys and will play by herself with so much enthusiasm that you would want to join in the game, she makes it looks like that much fun! She wants to please so much that sit, down and role become one movement when you say any of the commands. She is food motivated and a smart girl who picks up commands quickly.

She wants pats from every human and goes straight into submissive behaviour to get it, which makes her irresistable to anyone. She sleeps with her foster carer in bed all cuddled up under the blankets, however is fine to sleep anywhere.

She currently shares her home with a 10 year old collie who she plays very well with. She has a fascination with some TV shows where she feels her foster carer needs to be alerted with a little bark to the dog on the TV. Once you get used to it, you realize it is just her way of talking.

Morning zoomies before breakfast are her favourite!

She is also great in the car but make sure the window is high enough so she cant jump out, as she has tried once! Quiet as a mouce in the car, you wont even know shes gone!

Missy is described by her foster carer as the perfect little package! She is a 4 year old poodle mix weighing in at 10kg.

Missy loves other dogs, of all shapes and sizes. She is best suited with a dog her size or bigger and who is eager to play just as much as she is. She loves a good mouth wrestle and chase around the park. We believe elderly dogs will be annoyed by her as she doesn't seem to have a clue when the other party is not interested in playing.

She needs an active owner who is willing to take her out to play and socialize with other dogs. She doesn't mind being at home during the day if you work full-time although she would love to follow you to do everything. She is an exceptionally good traveler in the car and would fall asleep as soon as she is strapped in.

Missy has more traits of a Jack Russell than a Poodle and her coat is easy to maintain. She loves being brushed and would willingly let you trim her nails. Although she does keep her nails nice and short with all the running she does. She is non fussy with food and knows simple commands like sit. She has learnt how to use the doggy door and will take herself out to p*e/poo.

She doesn't need a big backyard as she prefers to be by your side and indoors with her family. She is always by your side while you are watching TV, on the toilet or pretty much anywhere you may go! She will nudge your hands for more pats and continue nudging if you stop patting her. This needy girl would love to cuddle right next to you while you are asleep and will stay there all night.

She has not met any kids however we don't think there will be a problem as she is gentle and kind. We are however unsure about cats as she does chase birds.

Betty is incredibly friendly and full of positive energy. With her happy and loving nature, she quickly becomes the center of attention wherever she goes, winning hearts with her sweetness and joy for life.

Whether on walks or meeting up with her doggy friends, Betty is always ready to have fun and socialize.

She loves affection, especially kisses and hugs, and there’s nothing she enjoys more than a good scratch on the belly. Betty is also a great companion for playtime – she easily entertains herself with her toys and is always eager to chase after a ball or spend quality time with her humans.

Betty is not only sweet but also incredibly smart and learns quickly. However, she is still a puppy and needs continued training to help her grow into the best version of herself.

When she’s not playing, Betty enjoys taking plenty of naps throughout the day, making her a great balance of playful and relaxed. She would be an excellent companion for a family with another playful dog, as she loves socializing but also knows how to relax and unwind. She’s the kind of dog who loves being around people, always bringing good vibes and lots of happiness.

Theo is a big lovable boy who is Malamute in size with Husky features and is looking for his final forever home.

He has so much love to give and is a bundle of affection! Theo loves to snuggle and quite happy to snooze during the day but does certainly enjoy the opportunity for his daily walk. Once the first few minutes of excitement settles Theo walks wonderfully on the lead.

He knows basic commands well like sit and stay and will wait until you release him to eat his dinner. Along with being toilet trained, Theo will also happily accept being brushed and seems to quite enjoy it.

We are looking for a home where Theo can be the only dog as he prefers the love of his humans vs other dogs.

For his breed he is not overly vocal but tells you what he needs in his deep voice. “I’d like a pat please”☺️

Theo is desexed, 5years old and located in Mordialloc.

The news we have all been waiting for…. MILO IS HOME🎉🎉🎉🎉😍 Finally after a rough 7 days in hospital our fighter has beaten the odds and survived the fatal parvo virus!! Biggest thanks to the veterinary staff involved with his care. Casey Pet Emergency and the team at Berwick Springs Veterinary Hospital went above and beyond to help him (and us) get through this tough time. It is so doubt one of the hardest blows a rescue can take. Milo has set us back close to $10,000. This is money that as a rescue organisation is valuable right down to every cent. We have fortunately been able to raise a fraction of the cost, but truthfully no where near enough to keep us afloat 😢 Although it’s great that Milo is ok, our doors are now CLOSED until enough funds can be raised to pull us out of debt and continue doing what we do best. If you have ever considered donating, even just $5 it would mean the world to our team who just want to help animals who need it. Oh how hard everyone is trying to get Milo better and we are all finally starting to see positive improvements! After a weekend long stay at Casey Pet Emergency, his sickness was at a peek. However through last night he made dramatic improvement and even had a few voluntary licks of food! He was discharged this morning with a much brighter attitude. Although he is still a long way from 100%, he is back at the local vet today and we should know soon if he is able to go home or whether a few more days in hospital is needed. Today makes day 5 of hospitalisation and our tally of treatment costs is sitting at $7,982.33 with todays treatments being billed this evening. It’s a huge cost treating parvo but Milo deserves a chance. Somebody heard they were getting adopted tomorrow and that somebody is Dotti! 🧡 She is over the moon to be finding her forever home after coming off a nsw pound kill list. Ahh this is what makes all the hard work worthwhile and why we are so grateful to everyone who offers to foster and save a life

Due to living in a social group our bunnies are great with each other. We offer bonding if you are interested in finding your exisiting bunny a friend!

Oscar is more then just a cat, he is your next best friend, the goodest boy and has an unbeatable personality😍 Oscar has been in rescue care since 4 weeks old! His siblings all found homes as little kittens, however 8 months on and he still waits patiently for someone to sweep him off his paws. Oscar loves his caregivers beyond measure and has a kitty heart of gold. Fetching is one of Oscar’s highlight traits and he has several of his favourite toys to play this activity with! This is Fred, affectionately knows as Freddie. He is one of our special needs residents due to regularly occurring abscesses. He requires antibiotic injections twice weekly and is an absolute trooper when it comes to meditating him. As long as we offer snout and cheek scratches he is happy to forgive us🥰

Kitten cuteness update- We are pleased that the 7 cuties who came into care are doing really well. All eyes are open and they are beginning to play with each other and discovering how to groom their adorable toe beans😆 Cute is an understatement!!!!!

Morgan is a special friend here at RUAR- he also happens to be available for adoption!!! He is a loyal member of his carers household. A true cuddle buddy, a goof and a reason to smile to all that meet him 😁 Morgan has been available for adoption for a while now. We truely have no idea how he isn’t adopted! His spirit is above all and we know this cheeky boy is going to make a family so very happy. Take a look at this video of a fraction of his time here with us. We hope this gives you the insight into how absolutely beautiful this fearless feline is. We love Morgan and want to see him finally land his paws with a family that can love him forever more💜
