Carbon fibre has been used for decades in human sport and medicine, and for good reason. As an equine osteopath, I’ve always been fascinated by materials that can protect without compromising movement, because a horse’s body simply can’t thrive when one is sacrificed for the other.
That’s exactly why we’ve chosen carbon fibre as the foundation for our equine sports boots, from sling boots and bell boots through to our hybrid designs.
From my (Sarah’s) perspective, the horse’s lower limb is an area I treat constantly.
Tendons, ligaments, fascia, circulation, heat load: It all matters.
Excess heat and restricted airflow around the legs can negatively impact tissue health, recovery, and long-term soundness.
Yet so many traditional boots trap heat and moisture, even when they’re designed with “protection” in mind.
Carbon fibre allows us to approach this differently,
It offers exceptional strength and impact resistance while remaining really lightweight, meaning we can provide superior protection without adding unnecessary weight or bulk that interferes with natural movement.
Just as importantly, it allows us to create boot with airflow, supporting thermoregulation around the tendons and soft tissue where it matters most.
Good airflow isn’t just a “nice extra.”
Managing heat around the lower limb is essential? Elevated temperatures can influence tendon elasticity, fatigue, and recovery.
Our goal isn’t just to make something that looks innovative. It’s to create equipment that respects the horse’s body, supports movement, protects when it counts, and works with the physiology, not against it.
Stay tuned as they go on sale in Feb- after we have further tested and trialled them! 🤞🏻🙌🏻
