This gorgeous young man has been named Biscuit as he takes his job of making cute biscuits extremely seriously!

We are getting so many requests to take in animals every day but due to our vet account being so high we have sadly been unable to say yes to helping anymore animals in need.

Thankfully our wonderful friends at very kindly offered to pay for Biscuits vetwork when they learned about his need for somewhere safe and as you can see he is now very comfortable in a loving foster home getting spoilt and learning all he he needs to so that once he has his second vaccination he will be fully vetworked and ready for a forever home!

Please keep baby Alphie in your thoughts. At the babies 6pm feed I noticed that Alphie wasn't as alert as his litter mates and for the first time in just under three weeks of being with me, he has shown no interest in his formula. 3-4 weeks is the most common time for fading kitten syndrome, so it's very important to get him seen as soon as possible.

If you are in a position to help contribute to his emergency vet treatment, any help is greatly appreciated.

This gorgeous senior bonded pair has spent many years in rescue despite being such a sweet and easy to care for duo. They love their regular visits from Auntie LeLe at Fluffy Time Buns who keeps them looking their best and they never cause any trouble to their amazing foster family.

This gorgeous sassy senior bunny is known as Alice. She was surrendered to yesterday and is now in the best foster home possible with an experienced friend and receiving all the palliative care we can provide her with.

Alice is between 9-10 years old and has had a severe head tilt for almost 6 years, according to her veterinary history. Thankfully, she was able to be seen today by our wonderful exotic vet, who unfortunately has found that beautiful Alice is going through far more than we were aware. Multiple masses were found on her abdomen, one of which is so large that 4ml of fluid was removed. We are sending this off for a biopsy to diagnose exactly what it is, but our biggest concern is that it could be mammary cancer that has moved to other parts of her body.

Alice is also showing active symptoms of E. cuniculi which is a common parasite in rabbits that causes damage to their nervous system, brain, kidneys, heart, liver, and lungs so she has started on treatment for that today as well as pain relief to make sure she's as comfortable as possible. Ontop of the biopsy today, we have also had bloods taken to get a look at what all her organ function is looking like.

I know that this all sounds like A LOT for one little bunny but despite it all Alice is here today, she is still loving the food she's offered and showing us that she has the sass and will to live so no matter how short her time may be with us, we will provide her with all the love and veterinary care necessary to give her every possible chance to live her life until she lets us know that she's ready to go.

Alice's veterinary care for today came to $675 and it would be a great help if we could get some donations to cover her expenses as we know that she is going to likely need alot more ongoing expenses.

I can now officially introduce the Aussie Metalcore babies since I finally have a good picture of them all together, thanks to for her awesome camera skills!

These babies came into the care of 10 days ago. They had been handed into a vet clinic without their mum and were sadly going to be euthanized if I wasn't able to take them as the clinic was closing in 40 minutes. They are doing absolutely amazing now and have more than doubled in size.

They have such beautiful personalities. They are confident and love all the attention they get from their carers. In fact, if we approach their cage without having a chat and giving them a good scratch and pat, we get
given the side eye!!

These 2 chumps are full of energy and love. Like typical brothers, they love to zoom around and occasionally engage in a little friendly sparring. Then they crash like babies and snooze the day away... until they hear the fridge open!!!

Boy do they love their food!! Haha 😄 and they let us know about it with lots of loud wheeking. These boys will make their new family very happy and entertained.

Today marks two weeks since Mojo Jojo had surgery to remove a big lump from her side. Thankfully, although she needed an extra week on pain relief and a stronger antibiotic, she is in fact recovering extremely well from her surgery. We got the best news from the vet that her results came back negative for any nasty cancers!!

With the large growth now removed, she's able to move around a lot more comfortably, and she will soon be off all medications.

I know that is close to Christmas but if you can spare a donation towards the veterinary account it would help immensely as we also have four guinea pigs getting desexed and microchipped today so that they are ready for adoption.

Bonded brother and sister, Bean and Peach, two beautiful, loving buns who love to sunbathe and listen to music! Near identical, these two have been inseparable since birth and love to explore new toys, or munch on some fresh herbs or strawberry tops.

They were born in the care of BFFR and are fully vetworked and up to date with vaccinations. Due to their adopters moving overseas these two are in desperate need of a safe indoor home (either foster or forever) by Wednesday the 18th, just over a week.

Mojo Jojo needs our help! She is one of the 12 beautiful ex lab rats that we took in a few months ago. Mojo Jojo and her 3 besties (The Powerpuff Girl) have been living their best rattie lives getting spoilt by their experienced rat foster mum and dad.

Unfortunately over the weekend their carers have found a big lump the size of a small marble on Mojo Jojo and she's had her appointment with our exotic vet this morning and we have been quoted $1,221.92 for a biopsy to be taken and sent off for testing.

She is booked in for this on Friday morning so we need as much help as we can get with donations as our vet account is already in the thousands.

Lavender and Marigold have raised their babies and are all booked in for their desexing and microchips in 10 days.

These beautiful girls are from a group of 7 young guinea pigs that were dumped and ended up at a pound that unfortunately doesn't currently have the resources to vetwork and rehome guinea pigs.

It cost BFFR a huge $735.76 to desex and microchip two female guinea pigs and I've been paying 100% of these expenses out of my own pocket as BFFR doesn't receive enough donations to cover any of our animals standard vetwork that they need in order to be adopted.

If you are in a position to set up a regular donation, each offer of support helps makes a big difference in allowing BFFR to continue helping others like Lavender and Marigold.

I wish I didn't have to write an update like this. It was why I was worried about officially introducing our newest arrivals, 7 x 2.5 week only mini lop babies.

It's what we believe killed their mum on Tuesday and their dad yesterday morning. Since lunchtime yesterday I have lost three babies with the others not likely to last the next 48 hours.

I am not ready to go into more details right now with all that is going on here but I will say that this needs to be used as an educational tool to stop backyard breeders getting away with murder for a few dollars.

Happy Monday followers! I couldn't help but share this beautiful picture of special needs boy Dylan living his best life here at BFFR HQ. I absolutely love how Dylan has become the champion of finding the most comfortable nap spots around the house! Whenever it's time to express his bladder, I have to go searching to find what comfortable spot he has chosen for a nap.

Thank you all so much for your support and help by donating towards his veterinary care for the very tricky first few months of him arriving into care. He has grown so much both physically and with how much his personality and confidence have blossomed with people and other animals now that he is free roaming around the house 24/7. He definitely knows how to make me and our visitors laugh and show that his disability doesn't mean he doesn't have a great quality of life. He is so happy and always brave to try everything.

Bonded guinea pig sisters Ashley and Chloe had a meet and greet last weekend and ended up going home with a wonderful family that have so much love to give their new little fur friends.

In this cause, Mum is a very experienced vet nurse and had already spent many months discussing and researching together as a family all they needed to know about welcoming guinea pigs to their family but for anyone who is interested in adopting and doesn't lnow where to start with their research, I am more than happy to go over all of this on the phone once we receive an adoption application so you always have support.

Mojo Jojo happily taking her medication that is carefully mixed into some delicious purée fruits for her to make it as stress free as possible. She is having surgery at the vet this Friday to have her lump removed and sent off for testing. We are hoping that it's nothing serious, but she has been started on Prednisolone just in case it is something more serious like cancer.
