💛 A Huge Thank You from Ronaldo & BFFR 💛

We are beyond grateful to everyone who donated, shared, and sent love towards Ronaldo during his emergency surgery on Saturday. Thanks to your incredible support, his procedure went smoothly, and his recovery is going so well!

After a quiet and emotional weekend, our brave boy is now able to put some weight on his injured front foot, and he’s showing his gratitude the best way he knows how, with endless smooches and sweet belly rub requests.

Because of you, we were able to raise enough to fully cover his emergency costs. That truly lifts a huge weight off our small, mostly self-funded rescue, and we can’t thank you enough for coming together for him when he needed it most.

From the bottom of our hearts, and from Ronaldo’s, thank you for being part of his journey to healing.

As always, it's another busy day behind the scenes!
While Honey and Brayden continue to wait patiently for their forever home, we make sure they’re always up to date with their veterinary care. Today was their yearly health check and vaccinations, both passed with flying colours (and left plenty of rabbit fur behind too! 🐰).

All our rescue animals receive the same love and care as any cherished pet, and we are very thank for all the help we receive to make helping them possible. A big thank you to Mountain Gate Veterinary Clinic for their continued support with their generous rescue discount.

🌼 Springtime Shenanigans with Duke 🌼

With spring in the air, our 66kg gentle giant has been battling a few pesky skin issues. His recent vet visit didn’t quite solve the problem, so we were back again this week, and we’re happy to say we’re finally seeing some improvements!

We did feel a little guilty when Duke realized this “car adventures” wasn’t to the park 😅 but, true to his big-hearted nature, he still greeted everyone at the clinic with tail wags and those signature Duke hugs that melted the nurses’ hearts.

Here’s to clearer skin and hoping to find Duke his forever home!

💔 URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR RONALDO 💔
Our sweet foster boy Ronaldo, aka Ronnie, needs your help right now.

Earlier today, Ronaldo got spooked and crashed through a glass window, suffering a severe de-gloving injury to his front paw.

He’s stable and receiving care, but because it’s the weekend, our regular vets are closed. Meaning we have to rely on an emergency clinic. The cost of his emergency care and surgery is $750, and we need to raise the funds by 5PM today to ensure he gets the treatment he needs.

As a small rescue, Beary Fuzzy Forever Rescue has already been stretched thin with multiple vet visits this week. We truly need our community’s help to pull through for Ronaldo.

🐹 Coco’s Monthly Vet Visit 🐹
Sweet senior girl Coco had her monthly vet visit for her arthritis injection at Warranwood Veterinary Centre , with her best friend Spark coming along for support.

While Coco has lost a little weight since her last check-up, she’s still bright, active, and full of personality! The vet was pleased with how happy and alert she is and recommended that we continue her current care plan — meloxicam, heart medication, monthly arthritis injections, and plenty of nutritious food and love.

Coco’s quality of life is still wonderful, and we’re making sure she’s as comfortable, loved, and pampered as possible.

Caring for special needs animals like Coco is incredibly rewarding, but it also means ongoing vet visits, medications, special diets and supplements, and customized enclosures. If you believe that love & patience can work wonders, then you might be the perfect match for Helmet & Muppet. Bonded brothers, shy but incredibly sweet who are quietly waiting for a forever home filled with understanding & kindness.

These gorgeous boys were born on the streets & came into care around 8–10 months of age. Life taught them to be cautious but it never hardened their hearts. Though they were terrified of humans at first they have never shown an ounce of aggression. Instead their gentle souls have welcomed every other animal they've met, from big dogs to tiny guinea pigs with warmth & kindness.

Helmet has made amazing progress. Once shy he’s now a total smooch with people he trusts. He adores pats, belly rubs & has even perfected the art of the flirt. Muppet his more reserved brother is still nervous about touch but is incredibly curious & sweet. He watches you with gentle eyes, often approaching for a sniff or to quietly check in before retreating to his comfort zone. You can tell he wants to be brave & that’s where you come in.

These boys love to play like big kittens but aren’t the “instant lap cats” many adopters look for but what they are is something even more special. They are the kind of cats who will slowly, day by day, begin to trust you & when they do the reward is truly profound.

There’s a deep unspoken bond that forms when you earn the love of a timid cat. It's quiet but it’s powerful. We know shy cats often get overlooked but that doesn't make them any less deserving. We took in Helmet & Muppet knowing they’d be a challenge to place but we also know how much joy & charm they have to offer.

After a busy night for us at The Vegan Vegout, it was nice to spend the morning in the calmness of nature for Jayme's 5 weekly hoof care appointment.

After his trim, he got a much needed brush to remove a lot of his winter coat. He really has come so far from the terrified ex race horse that he was when I first took him on. I love seeing how relaxed he gets to live his life. So many bred into the racing industry never get the opportunity to know what a loving forever home is.

While I’ve been busy processing some beary lucky BFFR fur-friend adoption paperwork this morning, two very special boys have been keeping me company. BFFR'S gorgeous Nethie brothers, Rex and Roger!

These sweet, cheeky boys are full of personality and bring joy to everyone they meet, but unbelievably, they’re still waiting for their forever home. Despite their charm, they haven’t had a single serious adoption enquiry yet… 💔

In the meantime, Rex and Roger continue to need our love and support. They’re scheduled for their routine blood and urine tests this Friday to monitor their kidney disease. These tests are essential to monitor the boys' health and ensure they stay feeling their best.

As a small rescue, ongoing medical care for animals like Rex and Roger does place a strain on our resources. But with your help, we can continue giving them the care they need and deserve.

Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference. Whether it’s the cost of a coffee or a Sunday night takeaway, your support helps us cover their vet bills and keep tails wagging (or noses twitching)!
