Our hospital is equipped with full dental & surgical facilities as well as in-house laboratory, diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy and radiology capabilities. The clinic consults closely with specialists in all other aspects of medicine and surgery so as to offer optimum health care recommendations for our feline patients.

FAREWELL PRAHRAN! Every ending is a new beginning and today will be the last day we perform vet consultations and services at The Cat Clinic - Prahran, after almost 20 years at 1 Miller St. We will be open this Saturday 17th from 8:30am - 12pm for clients collecting medicine requests and feline food supplies. From Saturday 12pm we will be closed and will reopen as The Cat Doctors on Wednesday 21st August at our beautiful, purpose-built feline hospital located at 992 Glen Huntly Rd, Caulfield South. The Cat Pad will remain open for local residents wanting to purchase food, parasite prevention, cat toys and of course for cat boarding! It’s been an amazing 20 years and we look forward to welcoming you all to The Cat Doctors.

There are only 3 days left until The Cat Clinic Prahran closes permanently to reopen as The Cat Doctors at our sparkling new cat hospital, located at 992 Glen Huntly Rd, Caulfield South. The Cat Pad at 456 Malvern Rd, Prahran will remain open for boarding stays and will stock a range of our premium cat diets, parasite control products and cat toys. We are pleased to announce regular supplies of both F3 Cat Flu & FIV Vaccines are once more available. Not just a preventive measure against specific diseases, vaccinations play a significant role in maintaining your cat’s overall health. Vaccines help strengthen the immune system, preparing it to fight off infections effectively. This is important even for indoor cats as the viruses covered in a yearly F3 vaccination don’t require direct cat-to-cat contact to spread. Importantly, an annual vaccination is always combined with a thorough veterinary health check which is very often when underlying health problems can be discovered and treated before your cat becomes noticeably unwell. This is especially relevant for cats entering their senior years. If your feline friend is overdue, call us and one of our friendly team can assist in finding you a suitable time.

On World Chocolate Day we celebrate the Chocolate Burmese! These wonderful companions come in a variety of colours including Blue, Lilac, Red, Cream, Chocolate and Brown. Confusingly, the dark chocolately colour is known as 'brown' whilst the lighter creamy-brown tone is called 'Chocolate'. Whichever colour - we're all fans of these loving, sociable and playful creatures.

Though The Cat Doctors are relocating to their brand new feline veterinary hospital in Caulfield South next month, The Cat Pad will remain at 456 Malvern Rd, Prahan. The same wonderful staff will attend to your feline’s every need and a range of prescription diets and essential feline supplies will be available for purchase during The Cat Pad’s regular operating hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 12pm & 3pm - 5:30pm, Saturday 9am - 12pm.

Happy Caturday everyone! 😻

You may remember Rosie from our previous post (the beautiful senior Burmese who made it through a successful course of chemotherapy).

Here she is again, now almost 20 years old, with a gorgeous Russian Blue sister duo by her side (Wyrm and Morgana). We are so happy to see they have successfully integrated, and are keeping each other nice and toasty this winter 😌

To our valued clients…. 🚧

Malvern Road between Little Chapel St Prahran and Beatty Avenue Armadale will be closed to ALL traffic from Friday 29th April to Sunday 15th May for replacement of aging tram tracks. Works in our immediate vicinty should be completed early with traffic access to our practice returning on 8th May.

Access to Miller St will NOT BE POSSIBLE Saturday 30th April until Sunday 8th of May. This will mean there will be no vehicle access to The Cat Clinic or Cat Pad for this time. There is simply nothing we can do, but try to plan for these disruptions whilst maintaining our services.

⭐️ We are reducing capacity and extending all appointments to half hour slots.
⭐️ Consider postponing routine appointments or seeing another vet clinic.
⭐️ We will focus more on procedures, surgeries and dentals during this fortnight.
⭐️ We will be open normal hours for food and medical supplies.

Please plan ahead for your journey to the Clinic and Cat Pad:
🚦The works will mean a walk to the clinic from surrounding streets.
🚦There are many cat carriers like back packs or using a small trolley.
🚦Parking is likely going to be very scarce in close proximity to us.
🚦Our suggestion is to use an UBER to drop you at Hobson street or at the BP/McDonalds on Willams Road.
🚦Your partner or friend can drive you to the closest convenient point and walk from there.
🚦Please call us to let us know you are delayed.

We are truly sorry for this massive inconvenience. We will do our best to maintain sanity, happiness and our expected levels of cat and customer care! 🐱🧡

A feel-good story for your Monday 🥰

This is Rosie. She was diagnosed with cancer (lymphoma) in October 2021, and started ongoing chemotherapy treatment at The Cat Clinic. Her last dose was given at the end of March 2022, and we are thrilled to announce she has been given the all clear and is in remission!

At the incredible age of 19 (the equivalent of 92 human years), Rosie is really living her best life. Here she is, enjoying a special celebratory treat of yoghurt and strawberry jam 🍓😋
