My thoughts are with the families who have lost their homes and buildings, and with those who have been injured or lost their lives, as well as animals that have been injured or killed. I fervently hope that the fires will soon subside.

Another hot weekend.

With tomorrow and Sunday’s heat of almost 40 degrees, please keep a close eye on all animals, especially your pets and take extra care of them. They suffer in the heat just as much as we do, if not more. Provide colder water than usual and more often, cooling mats, shade, keeping them indoors at all times and definitely no walks. Adding salt into your animals food can promote drinking to avoid dehydration and your animals getting seriously sick. Wildlife struggle too, if anyone can leave out water for them as well, they would be greatly appreciative I’m sure.

I hope everyone stays cool, hydrated and out of the heat! 🙏
