Our puppies had their vet visit today for a health check, first vaccinations & microchipping.
They all did very well, passed their health checks & got lots of snuggles from the vet team ❤️

Even better they all held their toilet all the way there and home and all went straight away in their toilet spot once home.
So toilet training is going fabulously! 😍

Today’s exposure is safely meeting our rabbits 😍 how adorable!

Our rabbits have been raised around dogs and puppies their whole lives they are not stressed by their presence and are not left together unsupervised 💜

Nova - mum to this litter absolutely loves her rabbits and often lays inside with them. 😍

Today on our outside adventures, we begin introducing our puppies to different items/smells.

Today something very simple - a cardboard box.

This builds confidence and encourages our puppies to be outgoing with new experiences.
No fear here! They all fell asleep in the box 😂

On a day like today we have plonked the puppies right in front of the aircon and they are loving the cool air 😍 Such a gorgeous litter ❤️ Please email enquires to [email protected]

Nova playing with our two boys who are still interviewing for their new parents 😍 Little red & white boy - smallest in the litter but doesn’t let that stop him in the slightest! Big chonky chocolate sable boy - absolute pudding of a puppy flops in your arms for a cuddle and plods around ready for his next meal!

Nova being the best Aunty to our red and white girl who is interviewing for her new parents 💕 She is a super confident social girl, her tail is always wagging so happily and she already prefers people cuddles over playing with her siblings, she will be a very people loving dog like her mum Echo 💕💕 Please email [email protected]

This set up may look interesting but there is a lot of purpose behind it. 1. We have introduced a crate for sleeping - we want our puppies to feel confident and safe in a crate, even if new families decide not to use crates at home your dog may need to be in one in their future such as; at the vet, in an emergency or to travel. 2. Immediately outside the sleeping area we have a toileting area, our puppies are now old enough to start stepping off the bed to toilet, but they can’t hold it and puppies need to go immediately after they wake up as you can see by this video. 3. We are also introducing our “puppy call” which I use to call the pups for pats/cuddles and all meals. This introduces a recall into our puppies as early as possible. And you can see by this video they respond to it very well! A recall can be a life saving behaviour that all dogs should have and it is never too early to begin. This sound will condition our puppies that when they hear it, good things always follow and we should run to it! After their meal the puppies will toilet again and then snuggle back into their crate for sleep and we do the whole thing again. Over the next few days/week I will introduce our puppies to a litter box with pellets rather than puppy pads. They will then get a play area. As they get better at returning to the litter box their play area will get bigger and bigger! Please email all enquires to [email protected] Our fb messenger is currently having issues.

All our puppies have now started their new adventures in their new homes 😍 so I would like to officially welcome miss Nova to our Charmalou family. Here is a small training session we did tonight. She’s doing very well! Training sessions for puppies should be short, sweet and loads of fun 😍❤️ Training is a great way to tire your puppies mind too. Nova is now ready for a nap 😴

We are trying something new with this litter. I have seen this technique used by many breeders all over the world and we decided to give it a try. Litter training our puppies 😍 and boy they doing so well at it! They are getting introduced to a new toy/item everyday. At this age they have little to no fear response so now is the time to introduce them to everything we can in small safe doses ❤️ The aim is to create calm confident puppies.

Hello and welcome to our FB page dedicated to our beautiful border collies! My passion for border collies began as a child, I’ve always had a passion for dog training and behaviour so what better breed to own then the smartest breed in the world! We aim to produce sound puppies with very affectionate and trainable personalities, our dogs suit companion, agility, herding, fly ball and all other dog sports. We are a small hobby breeder based in Gembrook. Our dogs live as pets not breeding animals. All our dogs are DNA tested with Orivets full breed profile and are clear/negative for all border collie diseases so we can be certain non of our puppies will ever develop TNS, CEA or CL. All puppies come with their first vaccination, microchipped, pedigree registered with MDBA, a puppy pack and a health guarantee/ care contract. We select homes for our puppies carefully and have a detailed questionnaire to be completed to see if one of our puppies is a good match for your home/family.
