UPDATE - Ollie has found his new forever home. Thank you to all that offered, so much appreciated! 🤗

Hello everyone

Meet Ollie, after much thought and careful consideration, he is needing a new loving forever home through no fault of his own. His owner has had a big change in both personal and work circumstances and Ollie is now left home alone for too many hours per day. which isn’t ideal for any Cavoodle.

He is originally a pup from my litter
And his lovely owner has asked for my assistance in re homing him.

A bit about Ollie:

Ollie is 2years old, turning 3 on 16 Oct this year.
DOB: 16 Oct 2021
Desexed
Fully vaccinated - all paperwork & certificates available
Microchipped
Toilet trained
Dog training: 3 weeks dog training bootcamp with Eastern Companion Dog Training + Dog obedience training with Pro Dog Training

Personality:
Very affectionate
Calm
Friendly with dogs, kids & adults
Gentle nature
Loves to play fetch at the park
Perfect lap dog and loves a cuddle.

Ollie needs a family who can give him lots of love, care and a lot of time and attention.

Please contact me via messenger if you or anyone you know are wanting to offer Ollie his new home amd I’ll pass your details onto the owner.

I’ve been asked a few times what the law is regarding leaving animals in a car. Please check your local state/country for the correct information. For Victoria Australia this is the Law regarding this as per The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (POCTA) Act and Regulations:

Legal obligations when travelling with dogs
The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (POCTA) Act and Regulations include several mandatory requirements for traveling with dogs in or on a vehicle:

It is illegal to:

put dogs in the boot of a sedan type car
leave an animal unattended inside a car for more than 10 minutes when outside temperatures are at or above 28 degrees Celsius
transport a dog if it is not appropriately tethered or caged on back of ute or trailer
secure a dog on the metal tray of a ute or trailer when outside temperatures are at or above 28 degrees Celsius without the dog having access to an area of insulating material protecting the dog from contact with the metal surface.
Dogs can travel in the cabin of the car or behind a cargo barrier in the back of wagon or SUV type vehicle.

When travelling, dogs must be provided with effective ventilation to avoid heat or cold stress.

I am excited to announce we are expanding here at Ruby&Millie Cavoodles!

After a break, as there were so many litters need out there , We are super excited to be planning a litter for early next year (pups would be due to go around April 2024) Maggie our adorable Girl who has been placed with a very loving family since she was a pup is almost ready to start breeding In December. I will announce updates as any news becomes available 🥰

I’m still working on the recipe book and fine tuning recipes, the girls love being my taste testers! 🐶🐶🦴🦴🐾🐾

I’ve also been looking into products that I have tried and tested and I know work very well. I’d also love your input into what you may be interesting in seeing us stock. Below are a few pictures with products that I may potentially stock and selling cheaper then rrp. Some way way cheaper! Please put a like, love or comment on any products that may interest you, it would be much appreciated, or let me know what you would like is to stock 🤗 Any questions feel free to contact me anytime for further info.

Lastly, it has come to our attention for a while that there is a desperate need for groomers out there! I’ve resorted to clipping mine at home instead. I wouldn’t be game at this stage to offer my services for doggo cuts, how ever, I have had quite a few enquiries for a wash & blow dry, trimming nails, fringe and butt area. Cleaning of eyes and ears. If you or anyone is interested In these services, please let me know in the comments below ( this would be done at my home) 🪒🐾🪒🦴🐶🐶

A friendly reminder with the warmer weather (hopefully soon arriving for those in Melbourne)
Please keep your much loved fur babies on a leash and a very close eye on them when out and about and in dog parks.

Cavoodles are prone to attacks by larger breeds, sadly I have heard many stories, some that have been fatal 😢😭

Happy Friday everyone 🤗

It might be the most baffling of all habits. And the most stomach churning.

But when you hear the real reason why dogs eat poo it’ll almost starts to make sense. Almost!

Here’s what it is…

No matter whether your mate is an occasional consumer or a true connoisseur, eating poo isn’t the most pleasant part of dog life! Not to mention the fact it puts them on a black-list for kisses for the next day at least. But if you dig into it, the answer might land as being surprisingly logical… Honestly!

So there are actually two main reasons for a bit of PE (poo-eating)…or coprophagy. But hey…let’s stick with PE for now…

REASON #1. The copycat
Age most likely: Younger than one year

Watch a litter of puppies and their poos have barely hit the ground before their mum has quite literally gobbled them up. She wants to not only keep them clean but also ensure their ‘business’ doesn’t attract predators and parasites. Pups see this and consider it completely normal.

So when they go to their homes, they simply follow in their mum’s footsteps and perform some PE of their own. For these copycats, adding a small amount of paw paw to their food will help. The enzyme in this will make their poo taste repulsive to these young pups. I obviously haven’t tried it personally but I’m told by many dogs it’s true…

REASON #2. The search for something
Age most likely: Older than one year

Our furry family’s senses are super skilled. And they can sense an opportunity. So for dogs lacking in particular gut bacteria, enzyme or even vitamins and minerals, they can often find what they need in that neat little package.
And it’s not so crazy when you consider that lots of animals (guinea pigs, rabbits, koalas) regularly eat their own poo for the nutritional hit. Even in humans, a ‘faecal transplant’ in a pill is a commonly used treatment to get their digestion back in balance. Having that gut balance right is so crucial for their health and they really seem to know it.

When it’s a healthy balance of gut bacteria they're after, my Drool In-Betweeners give them a much needed boost of prebiotics as well as vitamins and minerals to fine tune their digestion.

Why do our pooches eat grass?

Some dogs will eat grass just because they like how it tastes or because it is a way for dogs to entertain themselves when they are bored. Other times, dogs will eat grass because they have an upset stomach, need more fiber in their diet, or have a diet deficiency.

Tips to stop your pup biting you….

Letting your pup bite your hand when little soon gets painful when their teeth get bigger, it’s best to say a firm “No” or an over animated “ouch” from the beginning.

You’ll
Likely find the behaviour
May increase when they are over excited when playing and being riled up. When teething it’s also likely to increase.

Teaching your pup that biting is a NO!

Training, training, training.

Puppies mouth everything. That is how they sense the world. Their mums and other adult dogs teach them manners, like how hard to bite, when to back off and how to listen and watch for social queues.

Teach your pup a unique NO word or sound and when they are doing any behaviour you don’t like, use it to stop them in their tracks.

Redirect bad behaviour after you have stopped it by providing a different activity, like redirecting them to a game of fetch, or taking them for a drink of water, or going for a walk, or some training time (a few minutes at a time is perfect). That redirection distracts them from what they were doing and gives them something they can do to make their owner happy- which they all want to do.

Enrol in puppy school or some other training immediately and make sure every member of the family knows to do the same things so the puppy doesn’t get confused.

Socialise your pups in all sorts of scenarios with different dogs and different environments and different people.

I’m
Frustrated with the amount of additives etc added to Bone broth!

When it is truly all natural this can have amazing health benefits for our pets (and us!) it entices our pets both canine and feline to eat, can be given on its own for sick pets (it would be slight variation to bone broth) great for tummy upsets, under weight pets and can have numerous health benefits when added to their meal.
I’ve come up with all natural Bone Broth, it can be time
Consuming, but the benefits so worth it! However, I am testing ways to make it less time consuming to make with the same benefits.

I am wondering if:

A) you have an interest in adding this to your pets meal
B ) you prefer to purchase an all natural bone broth ready to go and can be frozen, then lasting several Months…
Or
C ) make your own
D) only use it for when your pet has been sick.

Please let me know in the comments - thank you for your continued support 🤗

Friday night funny story -

My recipes “apparently” are pleasing for teenage boys also 😅

I’d made a bulk lot of rice/veg mix, left it on the bench to cool.

As I walk back into the kitchen - My very fussy teenager and his mates are all digging in with a fork, saying, yummmm this is soooo gooodddddddd…

Thank goodness it was all human grade, except for the bone broth, at first I didn’t have the heart to tell them but when they asked if id cook for dinner for them also, I disclosed that the bone broth was not human grade 😳 they replied “we don’t care, it’s yum” and kept eating 😏🤷🏻‍♀️

(I do make it, but with human grade bone broth for them 😝)

This weeks menu for
My pooches 🥰 no more refusing to eat, they love the food I make them, get very excited at dinner time
And the bowls are licked clean, every time!

I make bulk lots and freeze -
Huge pot of dog friendly veg that I’ll
Bamix, so they can’t eat around their veg 😏… and I add boiled rice. I then add human grade turkey mince, lightly fried in a wee bit of coconut oil, I added some eggs and cheese for a bit of variety. The remainder of the veg was mixed in with boiled pork mince and I added bone broth for flavour. I alternate between the cooked and raw meals or add some raw to their cooked meal- such as - chicken hearts, giblets, chicken necks and chicken wing tips.

Raw chicken wingtips are a great addition to your dog or cat's diet as an extra crunch and source of calcium! Add them to a boneless meal or to red meats which contain less bone content, or feed them as a tasty little snack between meals.

I add a variety of herbs and
Minerals for nutrition.

Please Let
Me know
In the comments, if you would be interested in these recipes for your fur babies?
