🌱 Grass seed season is back and in full swing 🌱 📢 Footage of a burst abscess caused by an embedded grass seed at end of reel It is really important this spring that we are thoroughly checking our dogs for any potential grass seeds they may pick up on a walk or in the backyard 🌻 These seeds can embed themselves anywhere in the dogs paw pads, webbing, in their coat, ears, mouth, under arms, etc 🐩 An embedded grass seed undetected can cause an abscess to occur Unfortunately we found over 20 grass seeds in this pups feet who had spent some time recently at the farm, With a trip to the vet and an eye of what to look for, we are confident we will all be able to catch any seeds before they potentially embedding themselves again 🫶 www.luxepawsgrooming.com #doggroomersofinstagram #grassseed #spring #oodlesofdoodles

Reasons Why We Do Not Recommend A Cavoodle For A First Time Owner ✨ ➖ Cavoodle's are a high maintenance breed, meaning you must brush and comb them each day to avoid matting. Once they are matted over 20% of their body, the best thing for their wellbeing is to shave them off and start again ➖ They require an owner with experience and education in maintaining these difficult coats ➖ As Cavoodle's are a mixed breed, we don't have 'proper regulations' in place meaning we see many puppy mill dogs which have many health and skin issues. Skin or joint issues may start to arise around 2-3 years old. We work with a range of breeders who are doing their part to 'better the breed' ➖ Cavoodles are notorious for their health and skin issues, specifically within their joints. It is important that your cavoodle is not putting extra pressure on these joints by jumping up and off objects. Skin issues can lead to skin flaking, alopecia, dermatitis and hair loss. Special diets and vet visits will be required to keep on top of these issues ➖ The cost of a cavoodle can range anywhere between $500-$8000. This does not include upkeep cost ➖ Cavoodles are required to see your groomer every 2-8 weeks, the less you do at home, the more frequently we need to see you in the salon. • Things to do whilst your dog is at the Groomers • Your dog's grooming session usually takes about an hour to two hours, during this time most clients head up to our local shopping centre, others head back home.
