Two litters born over the last few days! 💔

The other night Addie, one of our pregnant mums in care, gave birth after a long time waiting. She delivered 7 beautiful babies but sadly 2 babies were born without a heartbeat. Rest in peace Bailey and Morgan 💔 Addie and her babies are growing big and strong, under the careful watch of their experienced foster carer who is needing to give bottle feed top ups to a few of the babies. The heartbreaking loss that the foster carer and Addie had to go through could have been prevented if Addie was desexed. Please take this as an opportunity to book your pets in to get desexed so that no other mums have to loose their babies and go through the pain of pregnancy like Addie.

🙏 We’re so relieved that Addie was able to give birth inside, safe and warm, instead of outside in the colony we rescued her from a couple weeks ago.

Lady our other mumma gave birth to 2 gorgeous kittens on Sunday. Lady was rescued from a rural pound kill list 💔 It’s heartbreaking to even think about. 😢

Addie and Lady will be getting desexed once their kittens are weaned so they won’t have to go through yet another pregnancy and birth. 🥳 They will then be on the look out for their forever home. They are the sweetest!! 💕

Looking for foster carers for at least 7 adults and 5 kittens for a a cat colony in Sunshine. They need our help!!

Including one heavily pregnant cat who is urgently needing a foster home so she’s not forced to have her babies outside 💔

All cats are very social and are longing for love and a safe place indoors, instead they are left to survive outside and run the risk of getting hit by a car or eaten by foxes 😢

Introducing Rescue Cats of Melbourne 💕

Over the last six months, Foster Kittens of Melbourne has been working towards something massive. When Foster Kittens of Melbourne opened, we did not expect it to get as big as it is - all thanks to you! We have built an amazing community, and we are so grateful for the unwavering support we have received from all of our supporters and volunteers.

To give us and the cats the best opportunities, we have decided to shut down Foster Kittens of Melbourne and rebuild a new rescue that operates as a registered charity with the ACNC. We are so excited to announce the opening of Rescue Cats of Melbourne (RCOM)! 🥳

Although we are now operating under a different name, we follow the same morales, goals, and dreams. We have a team of extremely dedicated volunteers, who have been working on this transition for months. Seeing this come to life brings us so much joy and excitement. Thank you for giving us this opportunity, we are so excited to help more cats this year!
