Long heartbreaking and heartfelt story. 💞 worth the read….

Hutcreek Good Thing and Hutcreek Fly Away were destined as brother and sister to go to a new loving home together. They got along like a house on fire and loved each other immensely and both equally loved by their family. 🥰

Unfortunately, Hutcreek Good Thing at just 6 months old suddenly was unable to hold down food and looked pained. He went to the emergency vet clinic immediately where he was given IV fluids and blood work taken.

He started declining very quickly and they believed he had a foreign object in his GI tract that had caused a laceration due to feeling a lump.
They prepared him for immediate, emergency surgery, but he continued to decline at an alarming rate and went into septic shock and cardiac arrest before they could operate. The vets administered CPR and managed to get a pulse back, but could not stabilise him and he arrested again. This time, they couldn't bring him back. He had no symptoms prior, no issues with eating, vomiting, toileting. No signs of discomfort or lethargy. Because there was no blockage, he didn't have symptoms until it caused a laceration, and then the sepsis took him so quickly. Just hours before, he'd been his energetic, cheeky self, helping load the dishwasher, jumping up on the counter trying to steal food and giving endless cuddles and smooches. The owners are so heartbroken and Hutcreek Fly again had been meowing and looking for her brother grieving. 😞

*Further investigation and scans by the vets didn’t show a foreign object however they believe an intussusception may have been the cause of partial obstruction leading to necrosis and rupture. They are at a loss as to what the cause was.*

💞I had a lovely lady from Melbourne wanting to home and love, my best boy Hutcreek Dear Today aka Chase. (Good Thing and Fly Again’s brother). She was due to collect him when I advised her of what had occurred to this grieving family and she offered to give him up to help with their heartbreak. 💞 You know who you are 🥰

Dear Today was collected and taken to his new home where he settled within minutes and has help mend broken hearts. 🤩

I cannot thank enough the wonderful lady who felt Dear Today should go to this family and I am absolutely honoured I was trusted to provide a very healthy, loving, cuddly boy to not only help with his grieving sister but to assist his new family with moving forward.

It takes some very special people for something like this to happen. Please know everyone involved is very grateful, thankful and cannot express enough how important and hard this decision was to make. 🥰🥰
