🚨 Heatwave Warning! 🚨

The BOM has issued a heatwave alert for today. Please take extra care of your pets during this extreme heat. 🐾

💧 Ensure they have access to plenty of fresh water
🏠 Keep them in cool, shaded areas
🚶‍♀️ Avoid exercising them during the hottest parts of the day

Signs of heatstroke to watch out for include:
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting

If you notice any of these symptoms, act quickly! Cool your pet down and seek veterinary care

A reminder that ticks are around us!
This week saw a paralysis tick (as pictured) case at the clinic .
Symptoms of tick paralysis can start with lack of appetite, lethargy, change in bark or meow, gagging and increasingly worse wobbliness or staggering in the back legs.
As the paralysis progresses, it affects the breathing muscles and the pet's ability to swallow.
If you suspect your pet has tick paralysis you must contact a Vet immediately.
As with a lot of things, preventation is the key. There are a lot of products on the market now. Come and talk to us how and what to use 🐶🐱

It’s been puppy central lately. Within a week of each other these lovely labradors had their puppies 🐶 via Caesarean section at the clinic. Well done to everyone involved!
