I am too excited 🤗, so I had to post.. a pressie for my father in law for Christmas (luckily he doesn't have any social media), a portrait of Jake, created by the very talented artist , (thankyou 🫶) also midwife colleague of mine. Generally on a Monday, I take the kids swimming, clean the house, prepare for the working week and listen to a podcast. This week I listened to this one which was about a dog behaviourist, Laura Vissaritis, interviewed by the wonderful Richard Fidler on the ABC Conversations program. Talking all things about dogs.. and what we can learn from them.. enjoy!

Addit- this is Willow, (Rozi's sister) in Adelaide with my sister in law, with her one pup, who looks just like Jake 🥰

And I can't forget Sophie, she was oh so special! My father in law's lab, who was 4th line generation, who Tom and I inherited into our family into her later years, we tried to join her although unfortunately without success. She survived a snake bite and lived another 6mths until she became unwell with a ruptured spleenic tumour 😪 We loved her too. Aww she was one in a million.

I've become nostalgic looking at old photos.. my old yellow lab Bella, she aged with grace and snored and smelled and was so loved! A true family member 🥰 - much love for that dog ❣️

Ebony recently had a hysterectomy and is recovering well. We have decided that after 3 successful litters with 30 pups & reaching the mature age of 6 this year, she has done enough. She has been a fabulous mamma. My 4 yr old has been particularly attentive ensuring she keeps very comfortable post surgery, including a cubby/bed in her room. ❤

Some lovely feedback from our last litter from Rozi & Jake- this is Maisie whom has been described as loving and loyal and chilled out. Puppy classes going well with the instructor saying she is very "calm and clever for her age". Such great news. Always love hearing about owners enjoying their pups. Pups take time and energy, love and consistency.. another child right?! 😉 👏👏👏

👏👏👏 Well done Ember - my sister in law's puppy from our litter just gone- look how attentive she is at puppy school! She was a star ⭐️⭐️ I hope everyone's pups are going well and soaking up love from their new families, and when given the time, it's an excellent opportunity to train at this age. Keep up the good work!!

We have said goodbye to our last little (not so little) pup... Freya, now called Maple, who we just adored 💓💓 and had the opportunity to have her a little longer until 's beautiful family have taken over the reigns. She will be so loved, we are very happy to see her belong to a lovely family. Awww it is hard to say goodbye!

Another beautiful family to handover to this weekend, I love it because as a vet nurse working with my sister in law, I'll be able to hear a lot about how this gorgeous pup goes. I love selling to animal lovers, as I know they will have great care and be handled well. What a fortunate little pup....
Meanwhile the lucky last pup, little yellow girl with the honey face has been very spoilt at home, as we have been allowed to look after her a little longer.. the kids are loving it. I'm sad to say goodbye to all these beautiful pups, they have been an amazing litter.

I have been meaning to introduce this litter properly with their pedigree names chosen by Katelyn - animal science PHD student- who attended the whelping and has stepped in as primary pup sitter and cuddler (not her first litter with us- many thanks again!!) After a lengthy discussion and "cuppy"- (cuppa ☕️ holding a puppy)... She has chosen names after Norse Gods for the yellows and Greek Gods for the black labradors.. because they are all such power houses and so damn breathtaking...In order from left to right Freya, Thor, Loki Hades, Faye, Hera, Gaia, Persephone, Pandora and Athena 💪⭐️ 😇☦️🇳🇴 (thanks for the puppy holding Kerlouma

Pups are microchipped, vet checked and had their 1st 6 week vaccinations... think they seemed pretty relaxed 😉 - thankyou so much South East Vets for your support and care 🩺🩺🩺 also thankyou so much to my sister in law Kerlouma who as a critical care vetinary nurse and with 20 years nursing experience, continues to teaches me and update me on all things fur and feathered.. she helped me check over this litter from tip to tail and had always been there for sound advice with our litters and breeding lines.. although we get told off by my husband to 'stop talking about dogs' ... 😆😆😆 we can't help it, we LOVE them!

What a week! Ebony has been very busy and blessed with 9 liitle black puppies to love and look after (7 girls, 2 boys)! Ebony had a very long pre labour and labour staring Tuesday night and going all Wednesday until midnight!! She continues to snore from exhaustion between attentively feeding these noisy hungry pups, entering the classic busy post partum stage! Now recovering very well and particuarly proud of herself this time round. She is an exceptional mother with an enormous udder (being 3rd litter .. it's never quite the same 😆!) A huge thankyou to Jeff and Katelyn whose observation and support during this long labour was vital 🧡. All are being very well cared for- birth is nothing short of a miracle and we are blessed to see nature at its best.

Wanted to post this of Rozie- another one of our black Labradors- from Ebony's previous litter (different sire) - she is such fun for the kids, loves retrieving and games with sticks and balls and also very gentle 😊
