Happy Weekend All ☀️

Did you know

Statistics say only 7 out of 12 monthly parasite prevention chews are given each year.
Therefore 5 months out of the year, pets are left susceptible to fatal paralysis ticks, deadly heartworm, intestinal worm infestations and annoying fleas.

We will soon be launching BRAVECTO QUANTUM, a yearly flea and tick injection given at their yearly vaccination jabs.

Please remember to keep your pets up to date with prevention, even through these colder months!

We are offering all pups their first heartworm injection FREE at their second puppy vaccinations!

As a clinic we favour the SR12 heartworm injection because we know that once injected your dog is protected for 12 months until we see them again for their next health check and vaccinations.

Heartworm is one of the more deadly parasites that can go undetected for years. Heartworm is transmitted by mosquitos, and the most effective way to keep your pets safe is to use prevention.

The monthly chews are very popular for heartworm prevention however statistics say only 7 out of the 12 chews are given a year, leaving pets unprotected for 5 months out of the year.

Call the clinic to book in your pup for the 2nd vaccines and add on the free heartworm injection.

What is a Veterinarian

I am... a doctor,
an anesthesiologist,
an x-ray technician,
a maid,
a janitor,
a surgeon,
a loving hand,
a pharmacist,
a shoulder to cry on,
a sucker for a furry, feathered, or scaled face,
a lover of all pets,
a midwife,
a dentist,
a pet's best friend,
a babysitter,
a physical therapist,
a chew toy,
a protector...

I can... make the pain go away,
save a life,
see what's wrong,
clean anything,
ease a mind,
fill a drug order,
show the right way,
end suffering,
give kisses,
get kisses,
heal a heart,
bring someone to do the right thing...

I have... a strong stomach,
an analytical mind,
a big heart,
the strength to do the right thing, even when it hurts,
the ability to fall in love with a furry face in x seconds,
and the deepest love and passion for a l l creatures...

Support our organisation!

This year our team is participating in the May 50K and will be moving over 100km in May to raise funds for research into multiple sclerosis.

Sadly, MS is diagnosed in the prime of life between 20 and 40 years old. Right now there are over 33, 300 Australians living with MS and there are no cures.

One of our powerhouse teammates has recently been diagnosed with MS and the struggles have been witnessed first hand by our team. Please make a donation and support our community challenge to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

Click below to view our fundraising page.

Your donation will fund research, project and collaborative platforms, advancing research into better treatments, preventions and a cure for MS.

Thank you all 💚

We're taking part in The May 50K to support research into multiple sclerosis.

Don’t forget children and pawrents… keep your chocolates safely away from your dogs and cats 🍫

Don’t forget children and pawrents… keep your chocolates safely away from your dogs and cats 🍫

Chocolate toxicity 🍫

Theobromine and caffeine are the chemicals contained in chocolate that cause toxicity in dogs. Dogs are not able to metabolise Theobromine as well as humans can, meaning they are much more sensitive to the chemical effects. The concentration of Theobromine varies between the types of chocolate; dark chocolate is the most dangerous, having the highest concentration compared to milk and white. Even if the levels of Theobromine are not strong enough to cause harm, the levels of sugar and fat can bring on gastrointestinal upset and even pancreatitis. Chocolate toxicity can take hours to develop.

Symptoms 🩺
Vomiting
Diarrhoea
Increased thirst
Excessive urination
Increased heart rate
Muscle spasms
Seizures

Treatment 💉
Treatment will depend on the amount and type of chocolate eaten. The sooner the ingestion has been identified, the better dog's prognosis. If caught early, the veterinarian will induce vomiting to decrease the amount of Theobromine absorbed. Charcoal treatment may follow to further mop up the chemical. Supportive therapy including intravenous fluids will help promote excretion.

If you believe your dog has ingested chocolate, contact your vet clinic immediately.

Reggie, the 9 week old Cattle pup had a wild start to a Tuesday. He was found coiled underneath a python on the verge of asphyxiation when his owner took matters, and a broom stick into her own hands. Reggie was quickly unravelled and taken to the vets.
Thankfully both the snake and Reggie are unharmed, and now enjoying a post health check treat!
