Clancystud Contender doing us all proud with his beautiful little jockey Amanda Paas at the recent State Interschools Championship. They had a successful few days competing in Combined Training & Dressage which saw them qualify for the National Interschool Championship. This combination continue to impress, with Connie only being 4 years old holding his own consistently against older seasoned horses.

We just adore being apart of our young horses journey. Having the pleasure of breeding and starting Connie and the continued friendship with the Paas family through Contender and our coaching.

Topshelf Absolute is having some well deserved quiet time now before breeding season. After a busy show season with back to back wins at Canberra Royal, Toowoomba Royal & Nationals I think he’s enjoying his holiday.

For those asking, yes Topshelf Absolute will be standing to the public this year to limited mares, as will his father Koorala Black Label.

Such a gentleman through and through. Sirius had a great show 1st in his hack, 2nd in the pleasure hack, 2nd in the working & 3rd in his led. He also placed 6th just out of the placings for his station horse in a big field of lovely 4 year olds. Such a consistent & kind stallion he is.

4yo gelding owned by the Paas Family

This horse is a legend. Not some of the judges choice but such a pleasant ride he really is a dream. Called in first for his hack but a mishap in the flogging rain saw us place 5th. His little 11yo jockey jumped aboard for the dressage where he placed 5th in the 1.2 against a big field of lovely horses. Worked his guts out for a “dressage” pony in the working, no love there but couldn’t be more proud of the talented and versatile horses we’re breeding. This gelding really is one of my all time favourite rides.

Well what can we say horses are horses and unfortunately Poppy injured herself in the stable on the second night of Nationals. We could feel something wasn’t right in our station horse and English attire so resigned her from the remainder of the show.
Despite all that she took everything in her stride like the true show mare she is and managed some beautiful work despite not being 100%. She was also at the top end of a huge led mare class.
You’ll get them next time girl 💓

What a gorgeous little lady this girl is growing into. Green as grass and just there for the experience but boy that didn’t stop her from putting together some very tidy workouts. She got a call in for every class except her English attire & a cracker working pattern. With only a weeks training prior to the show this little lady has a bright future ahead of her.

With just a months preparation this little guy sure did us proud. A mild episode of choke was not the way I wanted to go into our Futurity workout but we got through it and in true fashion once back at the stable with his head down it cleared👏 With big numbers being called off the ring was exciting on its own with so many quality babies & Mav being a late November baby meant there were some lovely more mature types against him.

13th from 57 in the yearling Futurity
3rd in his led yearling gelding class.

This will be a re occurring theme but Thankyou to the wonderful people that helped us time and time again into the ring. It is an absolute pleasure to be surrounded by such supportive people.

What a beautiful weekend for our two day Intro to ASH Competition Clinic 🍂
Thankyou to all that attended our clinic this weekend. It was an absolute pleasure to watch everybody learn, grow & improve over the two days. Afternoon whip cracking on the lawn and fire with a BBQ in the evening added to the fun.

You guys were on your “eye spy” game last night during channel 7’s Farmer Wants a Wife episode.
For those who were wondering yes you may have caught some glimpses of Mate, Wanderlust & myself throughout last nights episode which was filmed during the amazing Morisset Show. Hats off again to the committee for putting together a great show, it all looked fantastic on camera.

Now as a 4 year old Sirius has been stepping out as an open for the first time this year & has held his own. He did us proud placing in every class in good company with some classes having multiple heats off the ring to get the opportunity to workout. He really is maturing into a beautiful stallion. We are beyond excited to see his first foal drop hit the ground this season.

I cannot begin to put into words how much I appreciate the village that saw us make it to Toowoomba. With a string of setbacks we almost didn’t get to the show. My heart is full knowing how many amazing friends and supporters we have around us.

Couldn’t be more proud of this little fellow. After our prepared nomination had to be scratched last minute due to an injury Maverick was brought in, started being fed and clipped on Thursday and was in the show ring on the big stage by Wednesday. Although we couldn’t get him conditoned the way we would like for a Royal show Maverick stepped out and did us so proud with his type and temperament shining through.

Mav won his led in the 2 years and under class & 3rd in the All Breeds Halter Yearling Futurity amongst a number of beautiful and well presented horses. He was foot perfect & a testament to the type and temperament of these babies.

Last weekend we attended Gunnedah Show. We took Topshelf Absolute along for a successful day in the ANSA & ASH rings. We also tagged Clancystud Maverick in by dragging him in from the paddock the Thursday and a quick clip after our prepped yearling injured himself. He was a dream to handle as always and snagged himself a pretty red ribbon too but unfortunately missed the photographer.
The best part is always watching those we have had the pleasure to coach, or have encouraged into the ring succeed. I couldn’t be more proud to watch them go around and hold their own.

Another weekend of memories made. Thanks to everyone who attended our Horsemanship Clinic last weekend. Huge improvements and changes in each person & horse. Sometimes a goal for the weekend is the reassurance your on the right track and others it’s to learn some steps to help get you to where you want to be. We had both this weekend and everyone achieved what they set out to do.
An added bonus when 6 of the horses at the clinic were started by us undersaddle and have returned to fine tune & continue to learn. It’s so lovely to be included in their journey with their owners.

A huge shout out to Katie Browning for taking a few snaps in her free time & to the Rockgedgiel partnership for providing some beautiful home kill steaks for dinner Saturday night. It made for the perfect evening by the fire.

✨ Northbound Showstopper ✨
Poppy worked her heart out in a massive class of top quality mares. She placed 4th in her led & a small hiccup in an otherwise gorgeous workout saw her bumped down to 7th in her ridden amongst some stiff competition. Such a dream with no work down required, this mare is just devine.

Canberra Royal Stallion ASH Hack
Despite the weather wrecking havoc (thunder, lighting & rain the whole kit and kaboodle getting particularly wild for our workout 🤣) Topshelf Absolute put together a very kind workout to take first place. I take my hat off the the lead in rein kids and mums in the ring next door! So pleased with this young stallion stepping out with the opens for the first time in a lineup of lovely stallions.
